Huy everyone. Well here is the real thing about so called Kotor Online new MMO from BioWare. Ok, first you may ask how do I know all this that I have written bellow, well I am not gonna tell you that to not get some guy in trouble. Anyways here some info on it. First of all entire game is instaced atleast in the current state game looks completly instaced. When you think of new Star Wars MMO think of GuildWars or HellGate, no sand box. All gameplay build around quests and epic stories which leads to new quests and zones and so on, I dont quite get all the details. No its not SWG2, SWG will be still runing. They are not trying to replace it. The new MMO is tottaly diffrent thing. As I undersand you can play it as a single player game but most of the quest require teaming. So this part work like this, you log and you entered some city or some out post and team up with other players there and then head out. All quests are heavely scripted and instaced. Entire talk about this game was quite shady and I couldnt get much detailes. The interesting part is that the timeline will be between 3 and 4 episodes of the movie, yes you will be able to play as a Jedi, and this wont look like there is 100000000 of jedis running around, due to instaced missions and some limitations on the gourp party or whatever he ment. The game is in devolepment and it will be anounced in 2009 before some kind new star wars tv shows. So thats what I know. |

I heard it will be a free to play browser based game. No really a janitor at Bioware slept with a cleaning lady who read a letter in the garbage that had a map on it. That map lead them to Lucas Arts where a secretary who got sick after eating with the brother of an LA exec. She talked to a nurse that baby sat for a shade artist at bioware who took lsd and started talking about a secret door. Inside that door is a elf that through the magic of dance explained the game. So I really know the facts. Trust me on this one. Oh yea I forgot the magic talking dog he spilled the beans too. |

Originally posted by fogelklou Actually I think it is funny. I mean all of us here keep saying how the SW IP is great and would make a perfect MMO and how SWG would be great with only a few changes, etc. Now here we have what we've been asking for, another SW MMO, and it's going to be even worse than SWG in it's current form. Its sad, but funny. Definitely funny. |

If this is true, then most likely it will be released on consoles first and not PC, if ever on PC. I for one would not be intersted in a game like that. I also think that again, leadership at LA must have their head up their collective arses. What ever, let them fail for all I care. Getting sick and tired of dumb shit games from LA. Can't wait for SGW or STO to come out. Maybe even one day BSG. |

What a terrible, terrible attempt at creating a rumor. Every sentence you wrote made me laugh. The first being about kotor + bioware. It has already been stated by a Bioware EMPLOYEE on their OWN forums that they are not making a new KOTOR. Get it through your fucking head and stop coming here to spread false shit.

There was talk about something like this when they started announcing some of the tech they were using. Some people suggested a instanced thing like GW. I think people are losing interest in Bioware's MMO anyway. The EA buyout didnt help any. The hype has already come and gone and the people dont even know what the title is lol. Can people get excited about it again? |

before blizzard made the huge Starcraft 2 announcement in South Korea, many people already knew for fact that it was going to be starcraft 2 (aside from the obvious Korea location fact) by simply going to websites like starcraft2.com diablo3.com etc and running a "whois" on the website to see who owned it. Starcraft2.com was the only website (at that time) that came up as being owned by blizzard in the result. Might could do the same with some of this KOTOR speculation. Won't provide a definite answer but will help give insight on what game(s) they are developing seeing how I don't see a company wasting money on the rights to a website of a concept game. |

Kotor online is no jole it's confirmed and will be released sometime in 2009. The game is being developed by BioWare Creative Director James Ohlen, who was involved in KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights, and Baldur Gate’s I and II. So expect to be astound or disapoited. |

Originally posted by Endorin Feel free to back this post up with some sources of some kind. Coz all I heard is that BioWare haven't said anything, except stating that they are not working on KotOR III, and LEC has stated that the joint project has nothing to do with KotOR. They could, of course, have several joint projects going, between BioWare and LEC, though I still believe that KotOR is (sadly enough) not on the BioWare horison, as of now. |

Yup, might be my bad, i now read that they are working on an mmo, and that its not kotor: The only speculation left might be cone wars. My info on the kotor online came from this site so i might have been a bit hasty. It's easy to get excited when u read something like this. http://www.primotechnology.com/2007/10/19/biowares-upcoming-mmo-based-in-kotor-universe/ Then these are the exact words. Today's announcement did yield one important nugget of information. The mystery game will be published and developed by LucasArts and BioWare, which is now owned by Electronic Arts. When EA bought BioWare/Pandemic for $860 million earlier in the month, one of the three reasons it gave for its pricey purchase was the unnamed MMORPG in the works at BioWare Austin. The secretive studio was formed early last year and employs several former members of the KOTOR, Ultima Online, and Star Wars: Galaxies development teams. BioWare's MMORPG is scheduled to launch in 2009. |

I know, I read it. Unfortuneatly I believe they are wrong. The option left is Clone Wars (as you say) or being linked to the upcoming live action series somehow. Seeing as it is supposed to be ground-breaking, they are probably thinking of something we haven't seen yet. Like perhaps a new business-model, or maybe a dynamic setting (that evolves). One could imagine that the in game world evolves at the same time as the live action series does (i.e. that what happens in the live avtion series happens in the game). This could open up for some ground-breaking interactivity, like a really good crafter, sells his items to a character in the live action series (and is mentioned by name) or that a rebel (or whatever) is shown on wanted posters in the background. Nothing too fancy though, as it has to be "cgi'ed" in the post-work on the series. A new business model would fit perfectly in here. E.g. that you pay for the game and make an account, but there is no monthly fee. Then when the live action series is out, there are content (or stuff, areas etc) that are connected to the episodes, that can be bought. This way you buy what you wanna play, nothing else, and EA/BioWare/LEC gets paid for hosting the servers needed. Mind you, though. This is all speculation on my part. I have no inside sources, only boards like this and BioWare.com. Or perhaps this is wishfull thinking, as I fear the KotOR MMO is not to be, and that might just have been my wettest dream ever (after marrying, that is |

If you're going to stick it out there, don't be afraid if you get it cut off. |

Let's face it. It would be hard as hell to make a successful SW MMO after all the grief from SWG. Too many factors that have to be taken into account. Mainly, how to control for an overload of jedis. I think SWG had it right from the very beginning. My opinion was always make Jedis VERY difficult to get and once you get them make them more of a trophy than a useable character. For instance have the Jedi forbidden from certain instanced battlegrounds or something to that nature-just to force people to create and develope other characters. |

Its interesting that said individual would intrust insider information to someone who lacks basic grammer skills, and the basic ability to use the keyboard.

Sadly, if one actually reads the latest "quotes" from bioware devs about sandbox, and many other aspects of how MMO's are or should be, the description made by OP starts to not be that far of. |
