Does this mean that WAR's Open Beta will also be capped?

Mythic has stated for a long time now that Open Beta will be limited to the people who win/attend events, and pre-order the game. They will not open up beta for everyone to play.

Edit: Sanya Thomas - Written Aug 06, Revised Nov 06. Look at the last beta stage.

  • Alpha: What began in July. Alpha does not have anyone playing who does not draw a paycheck from Mythic.
  • Double Secret Beta: That is just beyond alpha, and only includes people from EA Mythic Studio. Started in Summer 2006.
  • First Stage of Closed Beta (Beta 1): (Current stage) What we are in now. Sometimes called "Friends and Family," somewhat inaccurately, this is a stage where there is actually a game, but it is not usually very complete or even stable for that matter. In this first closed phase, they begin including people outside the EA Mythic Studio, but bound by the employee NDA.
  • Beta1.7: This is the stage you'll start seeing community testers. People who have tested for Mythic for years, or have been otherwise recommended to them as quality volunteer testers, are starting to be included. There is usually a restriction on how many people get in at this point, and often perfectly wonderful people are left out. Tentative date: Early 2007.
  • Beta2: Still closed and covered under NDA, invitees include prize winners, guilds that win the guild contest, and some members of the print and web media - usually the ones EA Mythic has relationships with. People who work at GW retail shops are getting in here, and there are some plans for existing Dark Age of Camelot players to be invited to check out their new sibling. There will be up to a thousand people by the end of Beta 2. Tentative date: Early spring 2007.
  • Beta3: Closed, NDA. EA Mythic will be choosing randomly from the giant pool of people who are subscribed to the WHO Newsletter. This phase will have thousands of people invited, possibly as many as ten thousand. Tentative date: Summer 2007
  • Final Beta: No NDA. Because there is no NDA, people often refer to this as "open beta." EA Mythic is not planning the kind of open beta where everyone with internet access can download the game and hop in. Probably everyone who pre-orders the game will be invited to this phase of beta. This phase will also invite winners from big media promotions. Tentative date: Summer 2007

KEAS players are often individuals who like to feel immersed in a virtual worlds and see themselves as a great villain or crusader within that world. They seek out challenges against other players, but they are going to find all the areas of that world. They'll often know about the best hiding places and ambush points

Born to Lose, Live to Win

Hmm... I wish I could order it (when available) from UK mainly because of the language. I understand a bit of German but not enought so it would be nice to have the box in English. I'm sure it's just a question of time. Also to be honest I haven't even look through the web for an English version so...

Cheers anyway for showing the link, at least we had a small preview of the box (pitty they used a flash instead of lights - lol)

Edit: oh and btw, here is the link that may clarify some of you although it's old I doubt they'll change speciall now that we're "getting closer" to the launch.

Am I the only one that is a little suspicious that the picture look like they were taken with a camera phone and nobody from Mythic or GOA has come out to confirm or deny this?

Looks like it is true for the US as well. Here are the pictures to show the paper you get the codes on:

Why So Serious?

That second picture is so blurry its hard to tell where it comes from.  Infact it looks more like the Scratch off from the Warhammer Comic book that gave away Beta Codes for a Contest ... I dont think these US pictures have anything to do with the Collectors Edition since you can't get any real details on the US version anywhere not even the few and I mean VERY few sites that allow you to pre order and those aren't even gaming sites.

I'm highly skepitical of the German Website considering there's no evidence anywhere else, its a crappily taking photo and anyone that knows how to use a computer, photoshop, printers, and specially glossy paper can make a "mock up".   If that was the collector's edition then the Box is extra Shitty compared to what Most Collector's Edition Boxes look like.

Am I the only one with some sort of common sense here? EA Mythic has said nothing, shown nothing not even hinted at anything with the journalists that have recently visited.  I consider this either a really bad hoax or someone really wants to get fired for leaking rather vital PR information.   As much as I want those goodies to be real I do have atleast enough common sense to consider it came up once before and now its up again meaning its probably just a rumour thats resurfacing (sadly).

Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!
