I see why you would want that, and at the first look, it would seem reasonable. but then again, lets say 9/10 of your friends play on server A, and you decide to start playing WAR. They play destruction, but that faction is overpopulated on server A after the first 3-4 months. The only way to can play with your friends would then be by joining the enemy, which noone wants ( if the main reason to start play is that you can play with your friends) Personally i think, that it would be a bad choice if they made it that way, it would make it less atractive to start playing WAR, and would end up killing the game.

I am blown away that dwarfs have so many folks going there and that humans and high elfs have so few.  There is no damn way dwarfs will out number humans and high elfs.  WTF! Aragorn and legolas are taking a back seat to gimli?  There will be no Leggolas, no legolass, no leggolas?  I bet witch hunters alone will outnumber the total dwarf army.

Warhammer Dwarves are vastly different from Tolkien and Warcraft Dwarves. They drink constantly, they kill without reason or shame, and basically have none of the whole "honor thy enemy" rhetoric that is spewed in most Fantasy lore's.

Not true. My first char will be Witch Hunter :D My second char will either be Warrior Priest, Black Orc/Choppa, or Chosen.

Dwarves are higher do beacause alot of information has been giving on their classes. We know that how ironbreaker, Hammer(lots of knockbacks/knockdowns), Runepriest (hot healer), Engineer(hunter w/o a pet). work and people can decide if they want to play them. Very few peopel atm would pick DE black guard caause we no next to nothing about them.

Doing this poll during open beta whne the NDA lifts will be alot more revealing as other people like to pick classes they percevie to be powerful or similar to what they like. Some people like ranged guns (here engineer, Shadow warrior, and Squig herder). or maybe they want a pet class (squig herder, white lioin?, magus? (their disc they fly on  in lore can shoot spells of its own)

Too many unknowns for this kind of poll to be accurate.

I'm going to roll a warrior-priest on release day.  I've always enjoyed the healer role in MMOs, but standing in the back not really doing anything else was always the big downside.  Even when playing as a character with solid survivability (like my old resto shaman) there was still never any reason to go up front.

Now I get to heal and be in the front smacking things with my hammer :)

I think you guys are still looking at this all wrong. its 2 sides with 3 races. if you dont play dwarves and insted play highelves... its the same.

you play a race to get the class you want to play.

I voted Dark Elf, but I will probably end up joining whichever side needs players. All of the races seem cool, all the classes even. Based on the limited info I have right now, I think I'd be happy playing any race/class. That's a good sign imo.

Normally I hate Dwarves with a passion, but in WAR they have some of the most interesting classes. I'm even considering playing a Dwarf at this point. Bottom line, all of the races/classes are compelling and eminently playable. I doubt if faction balance will be a major issue when all is said and done.

Not coming up with something original is kinda the point of using an established IP.

Come on, that's not gonna happen and you all know it.

The only way I'd ever play an order char would have to be if the devs created a Slayer dwarf class, otherwise I'm a sucker for the bad guys.

i have a feeling Dwarves and Empire would be the least played.

Dwarves almost definately and Empire only by a small amount.
