"Have fun storming the castle!"

Hello..as stated, Wife and I are looking for our next MMO world to live in...We played WOW for a year and liked it and EQ2 for about 2 1/2 years We really liked EQ2 but felt we got everything out of the game we wanted....We were just...eh....about LOTRO..classes werent great I didnt think. She didnt really like it at all. Vanguard seems to be the type of mmo that we both would really like. Crafting seems pretty good and the ability to have a ship appeals to me. The problem is that there is no trial for it and doesnt seem to be getting one for at least a couple of months....We are curious to know if, one...We would enjoy it and two if it will run on her computer...I have a pretty decent rig but hers? not so much.  She has a p4 2.8 gig 1 gig ram and a 1650 pro 512mb agp.....she ran EQ2 on balanced and it ran well, will that be enough for her to run this game well enough to enjoy it? We read the min. and rec. specs for the game but that isnt always the true 'real-life' predicter for how a game will run....

Also she played a holy priest in WOW and a Warden in EQ2 I played a Pally (WOW)and Dirge (EQ2) are there classes similiar to those in Vanguard? Thanks in advance for your help

It''s one thing to have a opinion, but enforcing one is unconstitutional.

Well go back to EQ2 there is RoK to explore. Vanguard might run on your system but it wont run the way you want it too. I barely got 40fps with 2.14ghz C2D 8800 GTS640mb  3GB of Ram. and i had to turn of the graphics that i was playing the game for. GU 3 did improve performance but not to any point that i would be happy from a NEXT-GEN MMO that should support the power i had to play the game. My system is WELL ABOVE the REQUIRED specs and yet i have to turn stuff off to run smooth. With my 3870s in Crossfire didnt run so well on any setting so single gpu and power is all this game likes and that total BS IMO.

Whats wrong with 40 FPS you honestly think theres something wrong with getting 40 FPS in a game  look just because you bought a computer with a bunch of parts that no game takes advantage of .its your own fault for believing all the crap that surrounds computer gaming now days ,you must like wasting your money

You two would probably very much enjoy the game, but your wife's computer will have issues with a single-core processor.

I used to run a 3.6ghz with a 8800 GTX and got 45 fps outside and as low as 5-10 fps in dungeon fights with lots of action and spell effects.  That was on balanced.

I now have a 6600 Core Duo with the same video card and get 110 fps outside and 30-35 fps in dungeon fights with lots of action and spell effects.  This is all on Ultra-high settings.

The bottleneck was undoubtably the processor for me.  So your wife's 2.8 would struggle and you'd be forced into low setting probably.

As a beta tester..one who played 3 months post launch...then returned 6 months after that..and not currently playing...I say get a free trial....don't spend your money....be patient till that happens.

Yeah 40 fps is really not that bad at all.....but if she could manage 25 30 with decent graphics that would more than ok....even a little lower at times

there isnt really any word on when a trial will be available....everyone on other forums says to get a trial key from someone but so far no one seems to have one anymore.....

I've heard nada on the Free Trial for awhile now.  So either a buddy-key if you can scrounge one up or shop for a good price.  I saw VG at Target for 29.95.  Not bad, might be some online stores with it for less.

Bitefight links are not referalls, they are the way to gain xp in the game.

Vanguard is fun, and the gamwe has come a long way since launch, I am loving it, fi you do decide to buy it let me know, I am in a superb friendly helpful guild on the xeth server, our guild website is www.houseoflordes.com just in case you wanna check it out, and my ign is doobyscoo on the xeth server, i can throw ya some pointers and such if ya need help ingame, also if you decide to buy vanguard, I would highly suggest downloading the infomap mod for it and the drox ui as well, they halp a lot.

when you have a bitefight link to your vampire to bite people the mods will warn you it is a referall link, it is not a referall, it is the way you get xp in the game by bighting people
