Everquest

How many of us who used to play would go back if there were an old world server? EQ rocked back then and it will always be the best MMORPG to me, i'd go back in a heartbeat if there were an "Old World" server.  Any thoughts? good idea? bad idea? post away...

ATM, I would accept to play on any server as long as all the raid-loot is accessible by grouping means (LDoN merchants or adds to the drop table of some group encounters).  And it must be optimal to earn it in grouping-PvE­.

That's been said, once this issue is settle, atm, I would accept to play on any server, with any amount of expansions or lack of expansions, final or progressive. :P

I for one would not hesitate to subscribe again if there were a pre luclin server. Before the luclin expansion EQ was the most immersive game with the best community of any I have ever played. Once the bazaar and instant travel started the game went straight into the toilet.

I would most likely play on an old world server if they brought one up, not progression but old world.

What would really make me happy is if they could remake EQ and reset areas so it was actually a bit different then it was the first time. Just so you have some of that shinny new feel again, but that will never happen.

LOL...yeah right....are you forgetting who you're talking about here. Nice to wish for but it will happen right about SOE takes SWG back to pre NGE...lol or Pre CU.

Everyone knows the ropes of the game so people would just burn through the content faster than before, even those taking it easy.  What happens when everyone reaches the high levels and all that's left to do is kill Velious bosses, likely to be permanently farmed by a couple of guilds? 

No AA points to grind, no raids to do (unless you're one of the 100 people that are farming it).  Those same guilds could probably keep the Kunark epic mobs down for the majority of the time as well, to feed their constant turnover of players.

Reroll?  That's all you can do really.  If that's what people want, fair play to them.

I would love to play it, however I feel that I would never get that "new" feeling back nor the sense of community we had back then. For fear of being sorely dissapointed and ruining the memories I do fondly have of EQ I wouldn't play it.

No, there wouldn't be enough players interested, proof being SOE refuses to even bother. I bet they took a look at numbers and an expansion for WoW would kill the server off as it launched, and Blizzard would do it.

As much as I'd love to indulge in the old world again after playing on the Combine I think my EQ days have finally ended. I just couldn't imagine playing 2 to 3 hours a night again for the next 6 years.

EQ was an amazing game I miss it a lot, however I know if I were to play again I'd probably just run around for an hour or two and log out. Good luck to you guys on your campaign.
