Ah, silly people.. It was pretty clear the way he worded his last few paragraphs that he wanted nothing more then a free test to save himself 50 dollars. yet some how I guess i'm in the wrong. That's perfectly fine for me which is why I rarely post on these forums.

 Everyone seems to want to ride for free around here, it's too bad for the genre as a whole that there are so many people willing to take away from a games beta just to save himself  a few trips to mcdonalds.

What I would love to see in an mmo is the kind of moves you see in God of War - especially the parts when it goes all cinematic, and he performs a series of amazing stunts.

I know it would be a huge challenge in a large persistent world, but until something like that happens, MMOs will always appear a little pale next to the single players.

I appreciate AoC's efforts to jazz up MMO combat and  am very much looking forward to playing this game... but I don't yet see the leap forward visually I was hoping for.

Maybe it's better in the experience; MMOs always look far more dull in videos than they are to actually play.

It's so funny how 9 out of 10 threads ever made about video games will turn into 2 guys in a quote war after a few posts.  This one started with pandrax lol... when I first read his post I was thinkin, wow man chill out, the guy didn't even bash the game.  Relax bro.  He just noticed what most of us noticed in that the combat doesn't look all that exciting.  and there's too much blood lol.  He could have added "oxygen is helpful" if he wanted to continue stating the obvious.

ah well sry pandrax didn't mean to single you out.  If it wasn't you it woulda been someone else lol.  

But ya, mmo's need much better combat like god of war, jade empire... even prince of persia looks more fun than this game to play.  It'll happen eventually.  not with aoc or warhammer though unfortunately by the looks of it.

Just so I know, you got angry at his line of "maybe I'll get in beta one day..." ?  I mean... man you really read between the lines don't ya.  cheer up yo.  not everyone in the world is against you.  I think you are reading things that aren't even there, in fact I know you are.  everyone filters what they read through their own belief system.  yours is quite negative, but you can change that.

And this is my point, see how we're arguing now? (a quote war) though I didn't quote you cause I don't want to be part of what I just tried to explain.  Maybe the problem isn't ethion, or me.  maybe it's your attitude.  and I hope you feel better soon, believe that.  been there, done that mood.   It doesn't help anyone including yourself.

I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, if it makes you feel any better I didn't use a quote this time!  I suppose sometimes people such as your self like to pretend like your voice means something by making up "quote wars" out of 2 posts.  It's kind of sad and I hope you grow up :)

now on to something that is actually important.. The whole look and feel of the game  which is about all i'll say is pretty amazing. I'm sure when all of us are playing in may except the few who are crying doom will be having some fun.  I for one love the gore and fatalities and how everything meshes great together.

 Some say it feels or looks like they are sort of rigid and don't move great. which I can agree with. the animation isn't like warcraft where everything is so smooth and polished. Given enough polishing the animations should come together pretty nice. As we all know nothing is perfect, specially in mmo's.

While I'm not AS impressed as I was a while ago about this game, I'm still impressed. Love the mounted combat and blood sprays ... oh and chopping off people's heads!!! I think I'm gonna have to pick this game up when it arrives now!

The fatality thing was pretty cool and how it has an effect on the rest of the party.

Now my question is, do casters get the opportunity to perform a fatality or is this just limited to mele?

I was wondering the same thing. With all of the major focus on melee will casting be neglected? How will the level of interaction involved in casting compare?

i think the fatality thing is really cool. I just hope that they dont get really repetitive like in manhunt when u shoot the guy with the nail gun every time you kill someone.

your statement is fairly accurate. Combat for all classes is more melee based than class based. It seems the 4 archtype of classes are there to include some flavoring and to enhance your character. But mages, priests, rogues, and tanks all are very similar in terms of combat,,,, according to the rumors,,,,

 

I think that people are expecting some sort of "nuker" class.

The only true nuker based class is demonologist.. Herald of X is a melee mage with up close magical spells. Their demon form allows them to do more burst dmg in a short time but it's all mostly melee based.

Necro's are the "pet class" that excels in kiting, aka range combat,,,the same with Rangers.

So, as of now, AoC only has one true nuker mage class
