Good luck with that...

and before you ask.. Yes I am.

"We already have two operating MMOs. We launched a game called Ultima Online in 1997. It's still got hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Then there's Dark Age of Camelot, we also have a situation where we have well over 100,000 subscribers."

Does it seem odd that UO has more subscribers than the best RvR game on the market?

Why so much hate, could this enregy be spent better else where in your life.

Conservatism.
Just old white men trying to find ways to legalize discrimination, and make the poor poorer

I do wish I didn''t still miss her.

There was no corruption.
There was no leaked information.
There was no cheating.
The only person that was wrong is the clown that posted an email with the intent to mislead a lot of people.

People in the guild were a part of the RoK beta, just like they were a part of previous betas.  They did nothing that no other group of people couldn't do; the only difference is they had the forsight to participate in testing so that the things they learned they could aply on live.

The guild, if anything, is just an over zealous, EQ2 crazed group of individuals who maybe take the game a little to seriously.  They simply desire to be better then any other guild, and they use all of the tools available to them.

Why is this thread still here?

Edit:  I've begun to notice that I miss a lot of Y's.  For example I noticed that I spell they wrong a lot.  For some reason It seems that I'm having trouble with hitting the Y key.  I type with home keys and don't watch the keyboard.  I'm beginning to wonder if it's the nerve damage doing it.  Interesting.  At least to me.

Wish Darkfall would release.

There was leaked info Grimwell or Gnobrin said as much and thats what the fuss is about..the walkthrough provided was for internal QA only..the sheer fact it got out makes it newsworthy.

Plus IIRC the guild you refer to got moved to alive server from test..with items gained from thier "testing" thus giving an unfair advantage over other in the game.

thats been 2 different stories, first one was the guild moved fro test to a live server and then people complained so they got moved back (at least thats what soe told that they will do)

the otehr is about NPU getting the test description of the trakanons lair. to me it looked till now that they were on beta server during normal rok beta and testing the encounters. in this case i think the description is a bit too detailed for my personal feelings and i don't think that much details would have been needed for the test.

Anyway the only problme i have with it then is taht de mail was so detailed.

the otehr option would be that the mail was for internal testing and was later leaked to the guild, then it was a real leak but teh question is who leaked it then was it the dev, was it one from internal testing...

aynway what do you get for that worldwide first, there was not even a story about it on eq2players like they did in the past on some first kills of the hardest encounters. no artefact drop, just some crappy loot (at least if you look at the amount of complaints that the drop is worse than drops from easier zones)

I thought the EQ2 community was filled with mature players unlike the other games on the market.

I'm sure i'm remembering it right but it was the same guild wasnt it?..NPU may be wrong though i just recall the explosion on the official forums about it as well as on flames

I dont raid..but i would like to think i had a chance at something and not been hobbled by the devs/guild leaders/osama bin laden before i start something,of course its always gone on thats for sure but in this day and age customers expect something more for thier money and rightly so IMO,the days are gone where there was just a couple of MMO's on the market..its not like that its flooded with them most wanting your monthly subs

Who's saying that the email was for internal QA?

NPU told EQ2vault before RoK was released that they were testing the raids, and they made it clear that the only reason they were testing is so that they could have a head start on live.

How was testing handled?  I never got the impression that the testing was all internal.  I think that some people may not undrestand that sometimes a game developer will emply whole guilds to test content,(especially raids) and those guys are usually subject to an NDA as far as the content goes.  They were very open about what they were doing while they were doing it.
And that email wasn't to an internal test group, that was to one of the members of NPU during testing.
Members of NPU were involved in testing the raid, and this isn't the first time.  They've beta tested other content as well; for other expansions.  They actively test so that they have a leg up on live.  The only reason people are making this such a big deal is because some pissed off player is twisting crap to make it look like the devs and NPU are cheating.

Not to mention the hoopla over SoE not endorsing a site that is primarilly dedicated to negetive publicity is the most rational thing they could do.

If you're basing your decision to not try EQ2 because of this moronic and misleading thread then you're missing out.  Give the trial a shot.  EQ2 really is one of the best MMO's out.  There is no end of content to enjoy.  If you enjoy WoW but are looking for a little more then EQ2 would be perfect for you.

And for god sakes why is this thread still up?

Edit:  Hold on.  When the hell were they moved to live with stuff they got from test?  That's complete BS and an utter lie.  If an entire guild had been moved from test to live with everything they gained while testing this would have been known the moment RoK went live.  It's rather hard to hide the fact that an entire guild was lvl 80 as soon as they logged in.

Wish Darkfall would release.
