I was wondering about the same thing when I read this junk...to me it just looks like people are beta testing the future raid content. Whatever the case this drama is lame. Eq2flames is pretty much all about drama and people complaining. There is some decent information to find there...but I probably wouldn't go there at all if there was any other decent informational/community sites out there for the game.

Hmm - thinking this true, it all seems logical enough.

You need people to test an encounter, the best people to test are "real" players, those players will want to continue in the "real game" etc etc

But this leaves the question of whether under these circumstances there can be any genuine competition to be the "first" to down a big boss... with the in-game rewards that implies. Or is the ingame reward effectively a payment for the help in beta testing?

I dont know exactly. I have been following testing for a while. But not in the last 10 months or so. Back then it was that any content sooner or later was on testserver and anyone was able to have a look. Testserver was not under a hard NDA and the test forums are public readable.  There never was a big secret once something hit testserver.

The endgame raid bosses are not falling dead to the ground just because you know the script. Most scripts are know but killing them is a different story

Oh get over it "judged". Let me ask you something.... do you sometimes do things to cater to your regular customers at your job? Or do you just always do business as usual? I bet you cater to them occasionally, like give them slightly cheaper rates, or even something for free. And sometimes.... just sometimes, you give the ones you see personally all the time special priveleges you wouldn't even consider giving others.

Its the same damned thing only its online. Stop freaking out over nothing.

Getting back to childish OP point of telling everyone not to play EQ2 because of 'corruption' from SOE devs....  If this is in reaction to anything posted at eq2flames, heh, then I think i will pass on your 'advice.'  Not only does the content of the site exhibit all the moral squallor of a 4 year old child (sorry for the ad hominem, but I have other way of describing this pathetic web site), but the tenor and tone of the site makes me want to retch.

You are mad that the developers give advice to in-game guilds?  I bet you wouldnt be mad if you were a recipient of said help and advice.  Further, how does this help actually affect your gameplay in any way whatsoever?  Are they spawn-camping the epics so that you dont have a chance at killing the mob (well... no... since most raid content is instanced in the expansion.. but they kill overland content too much... boo hoo...woe is me...)

Please take the whining back to LFG and eq2flames, they love the drama on that website.  I think that this is a pathetic example of people truly needing to get out of the basement and get a real job sometimes.... (Again, sorry for the ad hominem, but my gosh ...)

Gamers who use RMT are like athletes who use steroids.

More proof that SOE is corrupt and their games are not worth playing. I bet SOE doesn't fire this ass clown developer.

With PvE raiding it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fauning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privelege. - Neanderthal

Unbelievable...  I cannot believe how moronic some people are.  You want someone to lose their livelihood because of some so-called corruption?  Have you ever had a job?  Have you ever had to provide food and shelter for you and your loved ones?   If someone at SOE made a mistake, do you think its something to get fired over?  If so, I am happy to meet one person who never has to worry about getting fired from their job for making a mistake.

What a joke...

I bet the number 2-5 guilds on those servers are not effected in the least.  When they are all competing for talented recruits to join their guild and the number 1 guilds seem to have an uncanny knack of walking through content.  I'm sure those other guilds feel like they are playing on a level field.

My old EQ guild had some very strong connections at SOE and I saw exactly how much that can affect your guilds status on a server and the cheating you can get away with.  I didn't know much of what was going on until some time later when it all came out, but it made some things much clearer when they did.  I couldn't believe some of the things the guild got away with and the stranglehold we held on the server.

I know EQ2 isn't the same game as EQ, but it is still a really shitty thing for the devs to do.  It is why I am not surprised in the smallest amount.

I bet your one of those people that wants someone to get fired for the stupidest things.

I work in a hotel. yesterday, I had to make some people at the desk wait 15 minutes before I could serve them because the damned phone wouldn't stop ringing. Should I be fired too?

Seriously, wth is wrong with you?

People make mistakes. Get over it.

Bitefight links are not referalls, they are the way to gain xp in the game.

Thank god i have never ran into any corruption or know any game employees, i have always played eq2 as intended by its build and have always had fun, as for what the Op has stated about this, let them get dealt with and possibly banned, the only real reason this would make me angry is if this was on a pvp server where it mattered to me, but it appears it is not and it has absolutly no effect on my gameplay and in the end i have a lot of fun in eq2 which is all that matters, i never really liked when people say ''when i worked my butt off in an mmo'' as this shows a sighn of jelousy by the op used within the text given and if ya really wanna see what working your but off is feed coal to a furnace in the summer for 12 hours a day that will make coming home to play eq2 a blessing and really make ya not give a rats ass what some crap happened to someone else on a pve server where it doesnt even matter that much anyway.

when you have a bitefight link to your vampire to bite people the mods will warn you it is a referall link, it is not a referall, it is the way you get xp in the game by bighting people
