I think everyone will agree that this game has potential. What personally appeals to me is the beautiful world, it is amazing and probably the best atmosphere I've seen. The major drawback - the empty world. If the developer makes some attempt to gain more players and fix the irritating bugs, I'll play this game. Anyway, I'll be in irc and see what the developers have to say and what promises will they bring. |

Three biggest reasons I can't play Vanguard: 1. No character skill customization Ability points don't count - Everyone has the exact same skills/abilities 2. Crafting is a mind numbing grind fest and built that way on purpose I want to gain craft xp making actual items to sell - I don't care if it takes a week to make each item to keep the market stable, but don't make me make widget x 50 times to gain some xp - Also get rid of the market - Players should have their own shops [the funny thing is a lot of people were saying the crafting grind fest was just lame in beta, yet nothing was changed about it - in fact I think they even added in MORE grind lol] 3. Nobody to group with at lower levels I tried playing again, and there's just not enough people at the lower levels to get the group stuff done - A shame, because I actually like most of the areas I saw - Probably because xp gain is too fast/doesn't ramp down fast enough ----------------------------------------- |

Agree with you about the character customization friend but just wanted to make a little point about the skill points. If you have ever played around with them much they make a huge difference. I played a Ranger when i was playing and started out with a ranger that could hold his own easily in melee and was dangerous with a bow too. Then i decided i wanted Ranged to be my main focus and changed my skill points to suit. These changes made a huge difference! i was deadly if i could keep mobs at range, but when tey got close i soon felt it. in short this is one thing that VG got right i would say. That was what you were talking about wasn't it? if i misread i apologise :) |

Sort of but I meant further sub classing I guess. I want there to be choices that must be made where if you pick one thing, you can't at all do the other. Kind of like how in SWG or WoW when you pick a tree to go after, it means you are also NOT picking some other tree and so can't do any of those abilities. Oh I forgot. 4. Diplomacy was a great idea, but is not tied into the game at all Sucks cause I could see a lot of potential behind it Overall I think they just needed twice as many people working on that project. Either that or it was horribly mis-managed. Cause their ideas were cool for the most part (sans the crafting grind, market, and all classes are the same) but they just didn't pull it off. It feels like it's still not finished (diplomacy is probably the premier example of 'not finished') ----------------------------------------- |

Yes i'm hoping we hear something of this alternate advancement that they say they are working on. I think generaly we all want more choices and something that we feel can set us apart from eaxch other. we want to play games as heroes not soldiers :) |

Vanguard is being killed slowly. The vision is gone, now they are just making it WoW like. |

qombi......you have no idea what you are talking about buddy.....its an opinion,,,,,,did someone higher above tell you that....lol silly man or little boy! people or WOW heads have to stop comparing it to World of Warcraft...lol.....WoW is a meat head Game, which means "pretty simple"...now this is my opinion :). Vsoh is a more mature game which means a totally different type of gamming. slower and more complex, which i like a whole lot more than "hack and slash. got to get better gear/got to get better gear/got to get better gear....over and over... :) As for the crafting, it might be to complicated for some of you, its not..."pick a flower buy a bottle make a potion" type of crafting. its involved....plain and simple.....so if ya can't handle it don't label it!!!!! as for classes and ability points, they go hand in hand...just like some said above, putting then in different things makes a change in the heroe. just because its not a skill tree means nothing whatsoever!!!! thinks to himself.....oO( so sad how people will label something because of their dislikes....kind of like a Nazi Gamer.....to bad people can't accept a game for what it is ) |
