Former SWG Player 2004-2007 |
I read on another forum site this guy heard from a source that the actual sub number was around 8k and since the problems with the server populations in SWG that LEC isnt to happy with the numbers and demanded that the Pre-CU system be put back in the game,. in which $OE's response it cant be done so LA is supposedly this week a announcement will be made that SWG is going to be shut down, along with Planetside, and Matrix Online, in the next 3 months. This is just a rumor I believe but knowing $OE it oculd be very well true.. |

| So Say We All.... William Adama For the number of times that SOE has destroyed the game I loved, even after it was very clear it was not what the majority wanted, I feel that they should start making donations to us- Paradox (SWG) |

I wouldn't be surprised. Freaking stubborn bastards at SOE... If they even mentioned bringing Pre-CU back I'd resubscribe immediately. |

It would be cool if it were true. Thats a new opening for a new SWG or something related to SW. But that seems like a few many sources with no links. |

I come here |
You could have trolled more attention if you had only used one game instead of all of them. LEC has no control over any of SOE's titles except SWG. Also, I seriously doubt SOE is going to shut down any of its games soon. Keeping games alive through Station Pass subsidization is what they do best. |

well it would be a shame as there are still people playing these games and tey do enjoy and it makes no difference to the rest of us if the games are live or dead. I am a SWG vet and would never go back to the current game, so not for me, but I know there are those who enjoy it and have put alot of time into it. |

EQ is still a cash cow for SOE. It's silly to think they;d can the game honestly. |

EQ still supposedly has a few hundred thousand subscribers--they aren't going to be close it down.
SWG will be closed at some point, especially as LucasArts ramps up their new Star Wars MMO. When they close SWG is still a mystery, however. Probably at the end of 2008 or 2009 at the latest.
I don't get them closing Matrix Online or Planetside either, because it goes completely against their Premium Subscription model for the Sony Station. It behooves SOE to have as many games as possible, thereby giving their premium subscribers more choices.
