Most "free trials" work this way.

If you cancel before the 14 days are up then you get a credit back to your account.

I can't believe people complain about this. It is a privilege to be able to try something before you pay for it.

How many Xbox or Playstation games have you been able to try before you purchase it?

*edit

You're the second person I've quoted today. Both of you live within an hour or so from me. Crazy.

Privilege to be able to try a supposedly dead game? heh. I dont even own a console. Altho, you can look at most MMO's and I would say over 75% offer a free trial, shrug...

Yeah I think you're right about the 75% thing...

The question is, do they request your credit card info?

I've never done the whole trial thing, so I'm not sure.

UO probably won't be dead for another 10 years or so.

I have no problem with them asking me for my credit info. I do have a problem with them billing me right off for a free 14 day trial. I would have assumed it would bill you after the 14 days were up, I assumed wrong

I understand where you're coming from.

I just don't see the problem I guess.

Once the 13th day rolls around call them up and cancel. Your card will be credited. No skin off your back.

I would say 90% of the free shit I have got has been through a similar process. They charge you up front, and hope you forget to cancel.

Anyways, good luck.

IN MY OPINION:

Ultima Online is still a very good game. (after 10+ years)

It is a skill based game. Which means the possibilities are endless. There are standard templates people use. Such as warrior, mage, tamer, ect. Or you could be a pure crafter and never see a day of combat, and still have fun while making a decent amount of gp.

I'm not going get detailed. Way too much information. That's why there is a "free" trial!  ;) (had to do it)

Back in the good ole days it was open pvp. You could kill and be killed pretty much anywhere. It was awesome. No other game has even came close!! Things are different now. It's a mirrored world. Trammel and Felucia. Go to Fel if you want open PvP.

EA took over. EA should probably stick to sports games.  I'll leave it at that. Changes were made. If you've never played it before then you won't mind the changes at all. But the old-schoolers such as myself will be here shortly to cry about it.

With the new graphical/UI upgrade, Kingdom Reborn, the graphics probably compare to Diablo 2 1/2. I do not have first hand experiece, I still play 2D.

I'm not a big graphics whore, so I don't mind. Gameplay makes the game, not graphics.

I like Ultima Online, and still play to this day. If your a big MMO'er then you'll like UO. If your first MMO was WoW or something similar you probably won't like it.

*sorry for any spelling errors...to lazy to spellcheck
