RvR is ganking by definition, you attack someone not based on challenge and difficulty, but on the fact they are the other side.

DAoC is a massive gankfeast.  So is EvE.  95% of the battles are ganking.

For a fight to be considering as not ganking, it must be unclear which side will win.  And if there is a rematch, it must be unclear which side will win the rematch.  To be not ganking, you find a group of 3, you send 3 peoples in your group, at RANDOMN and watch, never helping them.  In RvR, you will help your teamates and crush these 3 fools.  This is ganking.

Lineage II is the obvious choice.

DAOC gank ranks. The whole game promotes it.

Lineage 2 = I will never play a game where I have to click to move.

EvE = Space is not my final frontier

WAR and AOC = while both possibly good suggestions.. neither of them are playable today are they? (not sure why people rec. something thats not out, would rather get suggestions on games that of this very moment I can buy or DL right now and play.)

a note on AOC.. anyone else not think about the fact that none of NCsofts other games have been huge smashes, like EQ or WoW? they've remained pretty small.. I doubt AOC is any different. You don't automatically become master game makers over night.

WAR will be good, but I just feel like its gonna be lag city.

Vanguard used to be very ganking-friendly.   There was some level protections, but once other guy is on your range, you could do "things".

My favorite spell whas "Sleep".  Sleep + PvE or  Sleep + Water is a ganking dream.

Today, seems most RvR servers are off, so no ganking for you  :D

LOTRO PvPM.  The default gameplay is 4 creeps  to kill 1 freep ... by design. It don't feel like ganking, but is always  Number vs Quality.

Shadowbane is a game that offers the possibility of being a total gankfest. People would compete to try and be the top griefer killing/looting players 40+lvls lower than them on a daily basis. Not my style but that was an accpect of the game some seemed to really enjoy

See I dont view that as ganking, thats PvP.  Ganking imo and lots of others is  a max level player attacking a beginner.  That is ganking to me, just outnumbering the other side is not ganking, its when the other side has absolutely no chance in not only winning but even fighting back.

huh? ncsoft? Funcom developes the game -_- Funcom > NCsoft btw :P

but Lineage II is prettig big, and ncsoft is one of the biggest mmo publishers these days ;)

ow and RvR is group PvP, if both sides are unorganized you might call it ganking but RvR isnt designed for ganking.... u need tactics to win! :D

Well techincally by your own personal stance on PVP I'm not even sure why youre on this thread since you consider all PvP Evil.  RvR is not ganking you can't gank someone if they're expecting it.   You go into an RvR zone your expecting to run into all sorts of situations, if your not then you obviously have no place playing an RvR game.

So in other words -

20 players (level 40) vs 10 players (level 40) is Disadvantage By Numbers.

20 players (level 40) vs 10 players (level 10) is Ganking.

When one player repeatedly kills a lower level player who has no way to defend himself, it is considered ganking.

When another player ambushes an equal level character and catches him off guard, it is not ganking but rather cunning gameplay.

Yes, if you order the Limited Edition of the game you get an in-game spell.

The spell surrounds the the player in a pile of fake cocaine, and in addition giving him a very runny nose. Thus causing him to then inhale all of the gankage that is surrounding him until he is defeated.

Afterwards his friends shout, "Wow, you got ganked."

RvR, is at the base, a ganking paradise.  You see someone from the other side, you attacks, no matter how fair/unfair it is.  He could have a better group/more peoples with him.  95% of the fights happening in a RvR setting are ganking.

 

The best rewards are given when you RAZE an enemy capital city...they are given while you GANK!  The game is rewarding, ganking, and enforcing it with better rewards.  Now, because you gank you are stronger and can gank even better.

This isn't true.

The only game to have RvR at the moment is DAoC until the release of WAR.

In my 7 years of playing DAoC I have seen 1 person kill 8. I have seen 3 kill 20. I have seen 20 kill 76.

I have seen 130 take on 130 and only 4 survive (meaning a fair fight).

In an RvR game it matters not how great your enemies numbers are, what matters is if they can play the character they are on.

The zerg is the essence of RvR correct. The larger the groups for battle the better the battle is going to be.

Just know that the larger zerg is not always the victor in RvR, it's the players who thirst for blood, it is the players who loves the thrill of the fight who will win.

You will see MANY a 20 vs 12 in WAR and the 12 will win. Why because 20 noobs are no match for 12 highly skilled players.

I gank cause you get mad, I only target people who can't handle the gank they post on forums about how they hate gankers, and post my character name saying i'm a ganker noob and calling me all kinds of names, giving me great joy in ganking.  It will never end the people who play these games are to addicted and think it's real life to ever not complain about being ganked :) 

These kind of ppl weigh there time in game against time in the real world saying oh ifyou gank me I can't level up on time and will have no time for studying. these kind of ppl put the video game as top priorty and have no life.

Correct.  AoC has foolishly placed crafting resources into zones, of which those who wish to craft must acquire them.  If that isn't the PERFECT place to gank I don't know what is.
