With reason You drew, with honor you sheathed. Rest In Peace.

He made his mark on the world, may he rest in peace now.

The Empty Chair
Eulogy for a Gamer

There is an empty chair,
at the table this day.
A hallowed place where,
a friend once played.
The roll of his dice,
my ears long to hear.
Or perhaps it would suffice,
if he should suddenly appear.
With character sheet in hand,
and a bag of Cheeze-doodles to share.
All his friends would stand,
as he sat in the empty chair.
I hear his voice a-callin’,
and it ties my heart in a knot.
For he cries, “Though a comrade has fallen,
You must play for those who cannot.”
We conquered worlds on the run,
he and I in the name of fun.
And as others may come and go,
I make both both friend and foe.
But what I long for most,
is our past now long a ghost.

Rest in peace, and may you find new adventures in whatever lies beyond.

I don't know what kind of person I'd be without the experience of roleplaying with friends. D& D was the first..and though I  don't pen and paper it these days...It undoubtedly influenced my creativity and sharpened my imagination. I thank Mr Gygax for his contribution and enrichment of my life. I'll remember him as a Great friend...one i never met ...and thank him for all the friends I made on his behalf... I can only hope to meet him in some afterlife...and that it is as fantastic as the lives he assisted me in creating...you will be missed DM. Sweet Dreams.

now: WOW/LoTRO(but desperately need new computer)
then: SWG/COX/UO//DDO(some):EVE/AO/MTRXO/2MOONS/9DRAGONS/DAoC
will try after upgrade computer: Vanguard/AoC/WAR
looking forward to trying: ST:O,Champions, DCUO,TCoS

DOS 6.22 - fuzzy memories...

Reading these posts, seeing that many people had the same experiences I did... I remember my beginning, with AD&D, the wonder of imagining an entire world, living in it, interacting with it. And then Vampire, Werewolf, and then back to D&D. The Saturday afternoons with friends, laughing, playing, battling, hunting, creating... And the recent times: MMORPGs. The fun, the interaction... All because of this man.

Don't rest in peace Mr. Gygax: keep fighting, riding, casting, dodging - mastering! Wherever you are.

You walk a mystical path, and are a creature of the spiritual and the supernatural. You are introspective and self-reliant, but nobody will ever question your bravery or commitment to justice.
Take the quiz!

Gary Gygax gave wings to my imagination to fly, a debt I could never repay. R.I.P. bud.

I posted 2nd on this topic today and i feel as though my post did not do this pioneer justice.

After reading through ALL the posts (with watering eye's and all) and seeing how he has touched so many lives in a similar way as he touched mine, there is not much more to say, other than he was, and always will be...our 1st and most missed DM...

The gamming industry has lost a man among men that few will ever measure upto....

KASE (Killer 80.00%, Achiever 53.33%, Socializer 40.00%, Explorer 26.67%)

UO, EQ, AC, AO, Shadowbane, DAOC, Horizons, Lineage II, FFXI, SWG, EQ2, WoW, City of Villans, Tabula Rasa, PoTBS in that order I think. (And a lot of f2p games)
