looking at the main site of swg clicking on the complete series thing it states that you get the "original game" empire divided. What a joke!  What you get is a basterdized  version of what was the original game.  I think this is false advertisement and they should have to reword that ad. What do you think.

I think you are wrong - the original game as opposed to the 3 expansions. The same planets are still in the original game as well as the NPCs etc and a lot of other stuff if you want to look at it that way. Legally, it is not in any form false advertising, esepcially as the the EULA gives SOE the right to change online gameplay how they see fit.

SOE is guilty of false advertising every time they show their video demos which are clearly from Pre-NGE.

And when they show scenes on their boxes showing fights with Vader, etc.

Not to mention the fact that they are possibly guilty of RICO and interstate wire fraud over the NGE itself, which was developed in secret, and sprung on players who had continued to subscribe and pre pay based on the claim by Smed himself that the "CU is here to stay" a mere 3-4 months prior to the NGE when it was clearly in development.

It can be argued that John Smedley and the whole NGE development team are all unindicted co-conspirators to commit fraud.

Last time I saw advertisement videos, and even the demo videos of each profession ingame, are misleading- like Jedi having that "force pee" effect that they had pre-NGE (heal other, etc) just being one example. Their ad videos needs to be updated to be accurate.

List of SOE lies
SWG Pre-CU to NGE is like your favorite guitar magazine changing to cello during your paid subscription with no refund offer.

For at least the first year of the NGE.

It was possible to go to the LEC site for SWG and see the Pre-CU version advertised.  They talked about the professions (including the ones removed).  It took them forever to update the site on their end.

You might have had a case against LEC during that time period.  After all it really is their game which they gave SOE a license to run.

As it is now... every MMO out there has the "game experience may change" or however, they word it disclaimer.

But.. you can always try to go after someone for anything you wish to.. they are based in america after all.

I just think if you were to seriously be thinking what the OP is talking about.  Um and no I don't imply that they were being serious.  Then you had a long time to do "something" when the license holder was still advertising 30+ professions to choose from.

"We already have two operating MMOs. We launched a game called Ultima Online in 1997. It's still got hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Then there's Dark Age of Camelot, we also have a situation where we have well over 100,000 subscribers."

-Frank Gibeau of Electronic Arts.

Does it seem odd that UO has more subscribers than the best RvR game on the market?

DA fanbois  tell us often enough to approach this as a  new game. Thats enough info for me to classify this as NOT SWG but as NGE.

So the official name on  the stores should be  NGE.  To be called SWG only the original PRE CU version deserves.

Think is easy to agree upon to call current NGE and original game SWG.

-----MY-TERMS-OF-USE--------------------------------------------------

Everyone who logs into NGE destroys a bit of the SW Universe.

No SWG Pre-Cu, No money to the $OE suckers , simple and fair.

DON't agree to $OE 's EULA. They change the gameplay without respect your investement.

Um, and how exactly is that? The definitions you pasted dont prove me wrong. Bring some legal proof that there is false advertising that could be prosecuted against and get back to me.

SWG is SWG, in any state that you played the game. If you played years ago or play today the box has always said SWG. The game changed..... so what, it is still SWG. Pre-CU, CU, NGE.... all three stages were SWG.

Like someone up top stated, the planets are there, the npc's are there, the star ports are still there. The core of how the game is played has changed, but the core of SWG is still there. If they had changed the setting of the game, and now all the planets and NPC's were from the Star Trek universe.... ok that is false advertising. Because not a single thing in the game is from Star Wars. The fact still remains, the "Star Wars Galaxy" is still in the game, just like it was in the original release.

SOE/LA only changed the core of the gameplay not the world itself.

So it isn't false advertising in this case. Plus they have the right to change whatever they want to anyway.

They could remove every planet in SWG and just have 1 spaceport.... won't sell many copies, but it's their game they can do with it whatever they want.
