I would rather be in the beta. For two reasons. 1) You can be proud that you were part of testing, and in some small way possibly contributed to improving the product even if you do not go on to play it. 2) It helps you get a look at it before buying it so if it is SO far off from what you would want to play then you need not waste a pile of cash on it. Seriously speaking. I am not saying a few bugs, but like being in AO beta you saw the game was a pile. At the end of beta event the game had zones crashing and frozen players. Anyone who bought it either was quite the optimist, or was a crazy. |

I'd like to take part in the beta for a couple reasons. One is to help squash bugs and give feedback on game play mechanics/problems. The other is to figure out which healer class I want to play ;) The game play style for each of them seems to be different and I'd like to decide on one that I know will work out for me in the long run. |

To not conform is to conform; Always question orders and demand a reason, least you become a Nazi. |

Agreed, It's also good in the fact that you can see what bugs they do fix between beta patches and even from beta compared to release so you know if they actually fix stuff players report.

I normally apply to beta of games I've been waiting a long time for, basically to get feel of it before realease, testing etc. However if I dont get in, I normally know a friend or two who did, so the fact that I can see it that way, and hear what they have to tell, gives a pretty good insight. However not the same as playing yourself ofcourse :)

I want to get in to the beta , so I will have an advantage on release. I will know how everything works, where all the good spawns are, what are the best things to craft etc. This is especially important in a PVP game. If you know the game, you can level faster, and if you know what the best skills are, you will do better in PVP, at least early on

What a silly question... Of course I wanna be in Beta so I can brag my WAR playing life to ppl that ''I tested this in beta,I know stuff,You dont,I pwn'' AND I haven't got the patience to wait for 4 more months...
You could patch the endgame content, just release the game |

I honestly love Beta testing any MMo I can get my hands on. I love seeing the way games develope, change and grow to what they will be in the release. I got rejected for AoC but accepted to WAR [dont ever submit a beta request from your work pc ;)]. |

My friend was in the beta and told me he installed it, played for two days and uninstalled it. He said it was like a dumb downed version of WoW. He said you follow the quests on a set path and there is no point going anywhere else because the quests basically hold your hand all the way to the next quest collection point. And in between they have a raid going on you can p articipate in. I don't know i wanted to get into the beta to test it out myself. I don't like believing what other people say. But I think I may just wait for AOC. |

WoW is already the BEST way to introduce someone who has NEVER played MMORPG's to the genre. I sat on WoW for 2 years and quit. Played Vanguard, Tabula Rasa, and LotRO looking for something better or different. All of which had their Pro's. Also it sounds like your friend was looking at it like a finished product... and not a beta tester. Pobre... As for Age of Conan, looks very promising, much better IMO after their February Update. |

After seeing the leaked videos on youtube i think i put my eggs in another basket called AOC. Looks like Mythic still has a lot of work to do. Hopefully Warhammer still becomes a great game, but i have lost some of my faith lately. ___________________________________________

I hope you know that they are not putting the whole game at once on beta? They are just giving the testers certain areas to make comments about... And suggestions how to improve them. That is why they do BETA testing BEFORE THE GAME IS RELEASED. They will improve it a bit, dont worry.

Originally posted by Dorkhan I betatested 7 titles released the last 7 years and so far my experience have been, that a game so far in the beta will not change so much in so short time. Some people always think that the producers have some sort of "hidden über graphics/fix everything " version on their internal servers but when you see the released version you noticed that very very little changed from the last betaversion. If the leaked videos showed the current potential of Warhammer my guess is that on the betaboards people are screaming for a delay, until it's ready. I can live with some outdated graphics if the PvE and PvP is fun and challenging even if i have to admit it will be hard to move from a visual beautiful game like Lord of the rings online to something like Warhammer. Time will tell.I will buy both Warhammer and Age of Conan when they release and then i will decide which one will be my primary PvP game when i keep LOTRO as my casual PvE/PvM lifetime account game ___________________________________________

Sure I join betas to report bugs and lots of them. I usually dont give much feedback on something unless its so stupid it needs to be changed.
For the most part though, I play to get down some basic quests, items, anything so that on release I can help new players. I am a huge game helper in games that im in, I love to answer anyones questions accuratly. |

You do realize that they have another build that's not online on the beta servers, right? |

The real question is, do you want to be in Pre-beta or wait for beta? HOGG4LIFE |
