Yeah there is a graphic update in Labyrinth of the Minotaur
35-39 Battleground does sometime have people in it but for the most part nowadays the RvR is at level 50.
As for servers your major choices would be Bossiney cluster the classic servers, Devon or Killibury cluster normal Servers with ToA Bonuses, just look at the right side of http://www.camelotherald.com/ to see the population of the different clusters and the servers on those clusters. |

@ Elven I don't mind point and click, it's just in Diablo for example, you could change up what the clicks did. The Witcher runs on an auto-attack cycle that you either click attack or block. @ Grom I see, I'll do some investigating. I still think Duke 3D was one of the more fun games I've played, just because it was entertaining as hell. @ Kintrik Thanks for the heads up about that. I didn't toggle it, it just happened when I logged out then back in. I tried looking for a way to toggle it off, but I didn't find one, so I figured it was innate. :-( |

You want something that hints at being an MMO till War comes out? I second the motion on Guild Wars. It's a free sub. Can't go wrong there. Pvp ain't bad either the way it's done. Team based pvp in the form of gvg or Guild vs Guild. It's an easy pickup. You go through the pve and you'll be rdy to start the pvp or do them both at the same time. Sure, to start off you'll be behind the power curve in the amount of skills you will own, but you unlock them for your account so any pvp character you create will have them. It's an easy game to finish (by finish I mean every chapter has the storyline that resembles being played like it were a single player game which is why many consider not a real MMO)and get caught up with a lot of choice on how your character is built skill wise. But being able to be good at those choices is where the hard part comes in. Some have it, some don't. I personally am a fan of this game because of the way classes don't counter each other, particular skills do. Ie; A monk places an enchantment on an assasin to give hit points back to the assasin eveytime it's hit. A necro, or mesmer could have brought a hex that shatters enchantments. Cool downs are basically nil which makes for a strategic fast paced fight. No cool down is really more than 60sec. Interupts, enchantments, hexes, conditions, rituals are all very clear cut. By that I mean find your target and be able to see exactly what that person uses when they use it. Makes for finding out how to break an opposing character down or opposing team for that matter. A monk may be the greatest at healing, but with the hybrid play...an elementalist or ritualist may be some hidden healers on an opposing squad. I don't really play anymore though as I am now back to WoW getting geared up. I can forewarn you though, if your a fan of movements such as swimming and jumping, and hell...flying, you won't be able to do that stuff in Guild wars. After awhile tho, you'll get past that playing with what they give you. |

Originally posted by sirslayerrYou won't be at any disadvantage. The other Chapters are like addons. Guild Wars Prophicies(I can't spell this word right!) is the best for new players. Factions goes by REALLY fast. Although in factions you get to 20 the fastest but thats better for dudes who already know how to play and our interested in a new char. Nightfall is slower but not as slow as guild wars. Guild Wars gives you the most time to get used to the gameplay and it has a lot of quests that give you skills. Eye of the North is an expansion for lvl 20 people. If you have anymore questions you can message me ingame or inforum. My ign (in game name) is Jarnek Dragonspirit.

@ GeneralC Thank you for the in-depth responses. I don't think I want to dedicate that much time into the game though. :-/ It's kind of a toss up right now between GW and DAoC, and GW looks like it would be more friendly to my random time allotments. @ Sovren1 Thanks, and those things like jumping and flying aren't really all that important. I only go to those in games like WoW when I have absolutely nothing else better to do. :-) @ HelloKirby Always good to know. I might try and get a hold of you for those if they come up. One thing I will ask on here though, I was looking over the basic class combinations, and it looks like a Ranger/Necro would be fun for a first character. I also read though that I wouldn't be well liked for it. :-( |

At first I was about to try the EvE trial. Sadly I never got the EvE client to work. It was corrupted everytime I downloaded it. Probably it is something on my end, problem with my computer.
Then I started up Lotro again. I have a lifetime sub so I might aswell play it for awhile. After two days Im now a lvl 15 Captain. But I got the same feeling as the last time I played it. Grouping just feels really shallow and weird somehow. PUGs that is disbanded without a word when the quest is finished, instead of trying to keep together as a group and lvl up together. I dont really know why, maybe Im doing something wrong. I will probably lookout for a kinship.
On my xbox360 Im on my third "play through" on Mass Effect. The hype around the game is almost gone now for me, just playing it to unlock some achivements that I missed. I also plays some Halo 3 and Assassins Creed, playing them for very much the same reason, to unlock some missed achivements.
Here were I live the snow has melted away and as Im sitting in a wheelchair its more fun to go out for "walks" now. The air is so cold and fresh, and the sun have started to show up now and then. Feels good in the soul. The Second Day Vet |

DDO, Eve and Guild Wars.
DDO is different and fun since its combat system and dungeon can be kind of fun. I disilike the forced grouping though and I hate that they high end content is raiding so hopefully by the time I get their WAR will be out and be a game I want to play.
Probably finish up Eye of the North in Guild Wars, but no matter what I like to watch the GvG games going on even if I'm not playing it.
Eve I just kind of screw around in. |

LOTRO if you refuse to play any of the FPS games, or try some of the free ones and decide which ones you like for future reference/bragging rights. |

I feel your pain Sirslayer. I'm pretty from from the same background and am currently having the same gaming issues as well. Here are a couple I've taken to liking to occupy my time. Medieval Total War 2 (campaign mode) - currently playing this the most Company of Heroes (online multiplayer is quite fun!) Warhammer: Mark of Chaos (gets ya in the mood for some WAR!) I'm still playing a bit of WoW but losing interest daily, only playing for maybe 1 hour before becoming discouraged and logging. I've heard very good things about Planetside but too afraid I can get the same satisfaction from a large server from Battlefield 2, and without having to pay a subscription. I'd like to hear further input from someone inquiring into it as a new task customer.I'm also looking into Pirates of the Burning Sea since a friend (MMO experience like the lot of us) has told me positive things. Bottom line I speak for most of us when I say, can't wait for some WAR!!!

Everyone has the same problem. Before AOC/WAR/AION ... i play these games (i change) - Solo games : The Witcher, GothicIII, Arx Fatalis, TwoWorlds and again KOTOR 1 ! Warhammer Mark of Chaos. Lord of the ring BFME 1 and 2. Oblivion + mod Lotr (just discovered on FP) - MMORPG: DAOC (1.92) , WWIIONLINE, gonna try Eve Online, maybe coming back to Vanguard, really beautiful game and NOW we have flying mounts with GU4. Tried to play lotro again because of aoc and war reporting but gave up, even PVP is boring. Can't pay subs only for visiting the Shire... beautiful area but nothing to do with my 50. |
