Seriously, it's really obvious that this game has hit "fanboi" status already, as all these people run around crying about how Mythic is allowed to do whatever they want because "they're a corporation, dammit!" Mythic is people, and they have been advertising as people, helping us to understand the game by talking to us in videos and podcasts. Now suddenly they change face and expect me to fork over cash to enter a beta? I don't think so. I think the fact that it's only a chance to enter the beta and not really a full invitation is what makes me even more angry, because they know just how many clueless idiots with too much cash will go out and buy the stupid comic book, get the code, and then throw it straight in the trash. I don't expect corporations to be angels, but they could at least sell me the product straight (and when it's ready to be sold) instead of using trickery and "contests" to leech the consumers.

I'm also entitled to voice my opinion here, and this is how I feel about the decision. If you want to make ridiculous comparisons and snide remarks, then simply leave. It's that easy, really.

I wish I could live in a utopia where money didn't matter to anyone, including industries working at something for our entertainment. Because that is what is important right? Our entertainment.. and it should be free.

They don't owe you anything, there is 600,000 other people wanting to get into this beta like you. I think it is quite generous to offer this while helping another part of the Warhammer franchise in the process. I try not to see everything as insidious plots though. You won't find a tinfoil hat here....

Your opinion can be seen as valid though I suppose as others agree with you, I am just not one of those people.

So again I fail to see why people come up with the assumption that every promo is EA-Mythic's doing... It's still a Games Workshop product so again I say that this promo could be GW's doing and other then the fact you may a beta invite to WAR, I dought this has anything to do with EA Mythic at all, in fact if it was wouldn't the title start Warhammer: Age of Reconning' not just Warhammer.

So again I state before you linch EA Mythic for 'forcing you to buy things for a better invite', look at the WHOLE IP first, or didn't Warhammer exsist before the MMO in your minds? Seems like it from the comments I've seen sorry

I certainly don't expect to get into the beta tomorrow, but to say they don't owe me anything is a fallacy. I do expect a fair chance at getting into the beta. In fact, I expect a better than fair chance, because I signed up for the newsletter however many months ago, which showed a genuine interest in the game at the time (unlike spending $5 on a magazine running a "contest"). These tactics are only cheapening the promises Warhammer made. By rewarding players who are willing to spend extra, and undercutting those with genuine interest but not willing to spend extra, they are alienating an important part of their fanbase, and that's something corporations in the gaming industry cannot afford to do. If they are willing to do this, what else are they willing to do? How long before they are making false promises in-game, and then nerfing your class into oblivion? It's a slippery slope, and I'm still sick from my last roller coaster ride. I think I'll pass on this one.

I wouldn't have a reason to make comparisons that obviously go over your head if complainers actually complained about something reasonable.   Like why did they lie in order to get Bush to go into Iraq?  Are we really low on gas?  Whats keeping car companies from actually releasing their more 'Green' vehicles we all know exists.   Atleast complains on those topics are reasonable since those are obvious conspiracies.

I mean where is Mythics name on that comic? Where is Mythic advertising this comic? Where is Mythic doing anything.  It belongs to Games Workshop and like any other company out in the world they're offering a sweet chance to those that are deeply invested in anything Warhammer.  Its not diminishing anyone' s changes only enchancing a lucky 20 percent of the buyers of the comic series. 

If you can point to where Mythic's name is on this contest promotionally or any links then I'll accept your complaints but then You need to make a post complaining about not getting to go to any of the GamesDay Con events last year where they gave away actual Beta Keys and not just chances.   This is a 'chance' Not Instance freebie goodie.  

So far I'm failing to see it since the comic isn't made by or approved by Mythic.  Its made for and approved by Games Workshop.   The owners of Warhammer who can promote any product with their IP's name on it anyway they want.

Here look a FREE chance to get into beta.

This whole batch of complaints is just ridiculous.  If your that upset write a good Warhammer Lore based Story and submit it for Free for the Writers Contest.  Atleast then you up your chances without paying a dime.

But then again Heaven forbid you should have to do anything in order to get into beta beyond signing up.  Heaven forbid you actually 'earn' a spot in beta.

Wow point out the truth and I get blocked...thats a new one.  Oh well I asked for some sort of valid proof of their stamp of them runing the promotion and came up with nothing.  *shrugs* Whatever. 

If all of you are really that upset ... Write a Story..showing interest in the Warhammer World could get you into beta far easier than sitting around and showing no deeper interest than waiting .  If I knew enough about the Lore I'd be all over writing a story in a second.

And if you can't understand that it is a Games Workshop comic book published by Boom! Studios and advertised by Boom! Studios, then I can't understand your argument.

I understand your frustration, but I don't believe it to be a nefarious deal as you make it out to be.
