i know this subject is long over used but dammit im putting my two cents in. Sick of all these bashers that obviously never researched MMOs saying VG is dead or it will last for a couple years...BS IMHO VG will become another EQ2 type...first off we all know that EQ is still running hard but when that slips they are all either going to EQ2 or VG. Flamers keep saying "like zomg when AoC comes out and WAR, like your vg will be pwned" ummm...no. U flamers have it all wrong VG is for hardcore PvE, ya maybe some of us including myself will go try out AoC and WAR for a month but its not denting our population at all. also people are saying no one is re subbing or no NEW players are comming...well for the past 5-6 days i see people in continent chat asking for some advice beause they are NEW. And in case u all havent learned from the past...EQ2 started out exactly like this or in my experience...worse...if anyone will dig up "The dead horse" and revive its ass its SoE |

OK. Stop. Breathe. Count to 10. Don't drink any more Red Bull today. Yes VG will be a good game in the future. When everyone's rig catches up to what VG demands then there will be Alot more people in the game. SoE knows this. That is why they bought it. |

Originally posted by Hrica That's probably one reason why VG is seeing some growth right now, people are buying computers that are more capable of running it well. (I'm one of those, will be upgraded early next month). Of course, the other benefit VG has right now is many folks are bored with their current MMO (frequently WOW) and there is no where else to turn atm, since all of the other games are delayed until least the end of May and beyond.

Well, you are wrong.. and Vanguard is about as hardcore as WoW... But good troll, you really try to start a fight. Pity you are number 5.000 in the long line of Vanguard fans that give a mediocre game top grades, pretending its something special... its real old by now. "This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly. |

Sadly, the last of my friends have cancelled their subs. I suppose I won't be able to raise the BS flag on the worker bees anymore. SOE always finds a way to steal my fun! |

Well, no matter what they do to this game I will never play it again. The game was an unfinished piece of rubbish that couldn't and STILL can't run with the highest video card out on the market today. I don't care if they re-did the whole game with an NGE or whatever, I still will NEVER touch this game. Look how long it has been out and they still don't fix the 8800 GTX problems. And if you think this game competes or will ever compete against EQ2, WoW, WAR, or even AOC, you're nuts. You call us flamers cause we don't play an unfinished, buggy, piece of junk game? Well I call you retarded for even thinking this game can even compete with the MMO's that are out and are coming out in the future. That's my 2 cents. Call me flamer, but I wll never play another game from these people. And anyone who pays for an unfinished, buggy piece of crap....more power to you. |

The problem with VG - the only mmorpg i am currently playing - is that it sucks. It's not fun. Crafting to level 50 takes more than 10,000 clicks. Seriously who wants to click a box 10,000 times. I would much rather learn how to be a blacksmith in real life, or even learn to play an instrument. I'm just being honest. 10,000 clicks for something that anyone can get, because let us face it, a dark elf rogue is the same as every other dark elf rogue. A wood elf ranger is the EXACT same as every other wood elf ranger. Wait on second thought, this might strike a chord with the kids, because it's so simple, but we need something more complex. True gamers need pvp, not pve, they need complexity, but that doesn't mean crafting is like going to a casino, that means that crafting is varied, but simply interfaced, so the complexity cna come from within th eplayer, and not from the instruction manual. Seriously, this game is doomed. |

What about those of us who HAVE researched MMOs and who think Vanguard will stick around for a long time like that cockroach Horizons? It may not close down, but that doesn't make it a success, and it certainly doesn't mean it's a good game. |

Everyone knows how bad it was on release. But that was about a year ago. Ive been lately hearing more and more positive things about it and now people tend to have better computers handling its graphics. I kinda liked it even then, noticed many bugs and things that were surely lacking, but wanted to give it time. Ive been reading also some good things about it elsewhere and chatted with few old friends who tend to play it. Not all say its bad, actually is quite opposite. Played: Quite a few Mmos |

I've been playhing it since launch. You can look up my account just ask me for the info you need, besides any passwords or anything like that. I can tell you that the performance has improved, but in no way have consumers caught up to the gaming rig required to run vg. It is still a couple years away before even half of gamers have the stuff required to run this. Granted fps has imrpoved, for me by 10 fps, but that is not enough in one year. Anarchy online imrpoved much more in teh course of a month than this game did in the course of a year at release. There is simply not enough manpower to fix things. We still don't even have helms. I will only be playing this game until i am 100 percent certain it is a failure. Right now it's like 80/20 failure/ success. |

Why do people keep blaming the bad performance on inadequate hardware? Hasn't this myth been debunked time after time? The game was thrown together by inexperienced programmers that were scrambling to get it in a box, this much is fact. The required specs do not run this game worth a damn and that proves the game has coding issues. I agree it takes a monster rig to achieve playability with high quality settings, but the game still needs much tweaking in program and design before it's complete. Reference the recent customization changes as example. The people I knew (and myself) who stuck around despite the bad performance, bugs, and instability liked the basic philosophy of the game. That philosophy changed over time as SOE got more involved in development. They did fix (and still are fixing) some of the stability, performance, and bug issues and that's where people saw FPS increases when no upgrades to hardware were made. Having to overcompensate with hardware to offset poor design and code is asking too much. When SOE gets the game cleaned up you will be able to play it with the required specs. But what game will you be playing then? It certainly won't be the VG that 200k+ people purchased. |

"...and STILL can't run with the highest video card out on the market today...."
I have an HD 3850, not the top of the line card, and the game runs fine for me. I don't even have a very robust system and the game runs fine for me...
I must be special...or at least not grabbing for the same line that is used over and over again...well you know what I mean.
*yawn* That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |
