I bet SOE/LA thinks this may save SWG. I wouldnt be surprised if you see a whole new SWG campagn and advertisements during the commercial breaks.

EDIT: If the game isnt dead by then, which i doubt it will be since SOE likes to hold onto their games like old laggage.

But I'm puzzled.  The animated series was initially to be set during the original series.  There were even animated character designs for Luke, Leia, Han, et al.  What happened to that plan?

i think it's more likely that the new Star Wars MMO will tie in with the release and popularity of this TV show and this will probably signal the end of SWG.

LA won't want SWG around reminding people how bad a star wars MMO can be so i imagine the licence will be passed on to the new MMO.

IMHO

Except SWG is no longer being produced or promoted anymore.  It is being maintained until the end of the contract.  If you require proof of this statement, try and find a retail box on a shelf anywhere, or for that matter a download that works.  The trial files do not actually let you install or create accounts,  they are there strictly for image.  The game is dead, and will be buried once the contract is up.

The new TV show is going to be a major support for the NEW Star Wars MMO that is in production, and vice-versa.  The new game and the new TV show are going to coincide and play a part of each other...  They are going to be released almost at the same time, along with many other marketing apparatus.

My two cents, not based on anything but the information...

I dunno the problem with another Star Wars mmorpg is it just it will be made for the consoles as a first platform so who knows what it'll be like and specially as they port it to the PC. I could be wrong but Lucas Arts have all but ditched the PC these days and they'd be stupid not to bring it out on the PC so it wont be a console exclusive but it will be for the console so it'll have to be made for the console in mind.

Also the only good thing to come outta Star Wars is the original three films so it's like you know this will more than likely be bad and create more stupid plot holes and cheese like midichlorians lol.

Thats the rumor thats been going around the last few years. From what i have read before they are doing the series as we all saw in the first post. "many thanks" And also a live action one which might not be done for a long while. And one thing guys. Yes that have teamed up with LA on and new mmo, Id love a new swg mmo the old one is just the same as other mmos ive played. But untill a offical statement has been said im just gonna watch and wait.

Yeah, I thought so too. I read somewhere that it was supposed to be based on a bounty hunter.

Kinda funny though. A Clone War MMO would certainly be a good idea. To not release one in conjunction with an animated series would be an awful waste of a great opportunity.
