At the moment WoW is still the biggest

but will there come a game in 2008 that will become also a N*1 seller? just like wow was in 2004?

what are you guys thinking of the future for the mmorpg's in 2008?

shall wow stay big? shall AOC or WAR become the new N*1 sellers? or will they just be jokes?

or shall the biggest MMORPG of 2008 be an underdog?...

or is there a game... still not announced.... that will make we will sit behind our computers for days?

p.s.: my appologice if you find grammar or vocabular faults in my text ^^

english is not my speaking langua :=)

Considering the 2.4 million copies of the expansion, and probably 3 million copies of WoW sold in 2007, I don't think those other games combined will meet WoW's 2008 sales.

WoW will remain the biggest game subscription wise, regardless of whatever comes out. They have the ability and means to adapt. I'm sure everybody will be happy even if AoC and WAR force WoW to implement improvements, if they haven't already.

You can expect more hate focused towards AoC and WAR the closer they get to launch. These forums are funny. Moaning about how WoW is the new standard and bashing everyone that tries something different or is not focusing his product on a specific group.

In the end, numbers mean little when you have people in your servers that have fun. EVE started very small but has now gained a significant presence. Better to start small and grow in time than start big, cash in the honeymoon period money and slowly bleed to death.

Whatever you like playing is the best game.

Here's my vote:

(yes I know it's old, but think about how lame MMORPGs have gotten these past several years and how you used to give a shit)

Can you imagine what I would do if I could do all I can?

I'll be different and put my money on AION.

I've seen the little video teasers for Warhammer and even it's only a beta, it doesn't look that amazing... Age of Conan looks good but their RVR pvp doesn't even come as close to AION.

So me... AION all the way :)

I know it's not going to be the most popular but so far, everything i've seen and readed about the game has been not bad to amazing!

Their PVP will rock from what I can see.

Aion is virtual no publicity but it's still gathering a huge hype sooooooooo..... Money goes on sleeping beauty.

With WOW having 5 mill customers in the West and EU and the other half in the asian market it will be tough for any game to overcome that. With that said though, from the looks of it, WAR may take a huge chunk out of WOW in the West and EU market and here's why. WAR looks like it will have everything WOW has but better PVP.  I think as well, AOC if launched polished will also register a high amount of players, i would say between 500k and 1 mill.

So combined, i see them both hitting WOW pretty good and bringing that high population count on the West and EU servers more in line with other MMO's, with WOW maintaining it's supremecy due to the asian market.
