em no...why should they...f2p= failure.... just end up getting more people playing...meaning that you will need bigger servers...and they will probably get the same or less money through macro payment....anyway...this game use an old system...meaning alot of people wont wann play it anyway

It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a viking to raze a village! |
Memories must change over time. When AC2 was out, the community trashed the game on the boards constantly. I played it, and it was not all that great. If they were really interested in AC2, I would hope they'd have the sense to give us what we really want. Unique gameplay elements like those found in AC1 with updated graphics. Not the dumbed down game they gave us.

Originally posted by Deathstrike2Its true .. the game was horrible when it was first out .. they did do a lot of updates though. I think at the end of it all though things were pretty solid. I remember playing when you couldnt even chat lol I still think that game would work as mico payments .. Most of the micro payment games have NO updates .. Turbine could make it work. |

Originally posted by Greefer I would not say AC2 was a horible game - though dumbed down for sure especially character skills and lacking shops there were many fine features such as classes. maps and mobs. I and many others still dream of a game as complex and involing as AC1 ATB Chrimwinster

Meet people from all over the world... then kill them. |
While American audiences don't seem to care for the Asian F2P model, similar approaches based on advertising or paid extras appear to be working for Anarchy Online and Shadowbane. Both games were once subscription-based, and in their F2P afterlife they have probably the healthiest populations of any MMO their age. Let's also not forget RuneScape, Second Life, and Dungeon Runners. |

Guild Wars is a different game. Heavy use of instancing means Guild Wars has MUCH lower overhead for bandwidth and server costs.
That said, it's pretty obvious that free to play games can and do make money, even outside of Asia (where they are the norm, not the exception). They generally make their income using ingame stores, credit purchases, or some other "pay us cash to get special benefits" feature. |

It was just an example. There are lot more totaly free MMo's like Perfect world, Archlord, Silkroad etc who have lots of players but no problems (even second life although Im not a big fan of that game type >P) .. |
