The merge between the Western & Chinese servers will never happen. The predominant reason for this is that neither side would understand one another since Chinese writing in a totally alien to most Eve players. And the second reason being the obvious restrictions the Chinese government put on thier peoples usage of the internet and MMORPG's. So I wouldn't hold your hopes on the above happening for awhile yet. On another note there is truely no end to Eve unless they shutdown. As far as I know there is next to noone who has "completed" the game by being level 5 in every single skill and I doubt there will be for a few good years yet.

It takes around 35 years to skill everything. So no, nobody has everything maxed and won't in the future. ;) |

uh? 35 years? lol are u crazy? if u get an average of 2000 sp/hour in 35yrs time thats 613million skillpoints.. the max clone is at 92mil skill points and that is from what I know the maximum skillpoints you can have, which means every skill at level5, it takes around 5years, with learning skills and implants, to get every skill at lvl5. Its still a long time since most of the eve population has less then 3 years. |

There might be even more, this site is entirely voluntary and there are many players who will not publish information about their characters due to PVP concerns. So it looks as if EVE is continuing ever upwards and onwards... "Just because you aren't paying doesn't mean it's not PTW." - Amaranthar |

An end? Lol. It took them 3 years to finish the beginning. CCP are one of the laziest dev teams in MMO history, there isn't much of a beginning or middle yet, let alone an end. the game had been running for 3 years before they even got the tutorial done. They call it "sandbox" which basically means there isn't much of anything. The skill tree is pretty much limitless given the real time months it takes to learn them, but there isn't any endgame. No finale or activities. Endgame consists of mindless PvP, Player A (and friends) declares war on Player B (and friends) for some reason or other known only to himself or just wanders round looking for an easy victim. Crafting and trading is pretty well developed and well worth it if trading is your thing. Resource gathering is a botfest. |

You can kill scripted raid bosses day after day or wage war with 1000's of allies against 1000's of other humans in an enemy alliance. Constantly having to out think those other REAL HUMANS through use of diplomacy, logistics, industry, stealth attacks on industry, pitched battles, light skirmishes. I could go on... ... and I will: Capital ship warfare, spies who infiltrate enemy corporations and alliances, smack talk to demoralize enemies, executor of your own corporation, defending your own empire from enemy raids, etc... I know which content sounds more fun to me! EVE devs are not lazy. They know exactly what type of game they want to make and by and large they have provided it. It's not the perfect game for everyone, it's not the perfect game for most everyone, but it's a damn good game for a few and that's exactly how I like it. Make a game some will really enjoy instead of a game everyone will slightly enjoy. Just hope someone else does the same for the other niche crowds! |
