Greetings people. I have a question regarding the world of hyboria and conan in general. I am really interested in this game that is due to come out in a few months. However I dont know anything about what the creator of hyboria has written or it's vast history. I want to learn this before I start to play this game, and I have a few months on me. I have just finished all the book's I bought last time I went in to a Sci-fi store. So I was wondering if some of you have any good advice on books regarding hyboria that has gotten good critique?

I am fully aware of the Arnold movie's that was released back in the days, though I rather read books regarding these land's before or instead of watching them.

Best regards, Davoud

After actully surfing around successfully I found that people recommend these 3 book's.

The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian
The Bloody Crown of Conan
The Conquering Sword of Conan

I am now asking you guys here, are they worth reading for my search in knowledge of the Hyborian world, and are they good book's?

Those books are great choices.  Howard wrote a collection of short stories and not a series of sequential novels like say Tolkien.  They are also much more "adult" themed stories than most classic fantasy novels.  Once you start I guarantee that you won't be able to put them down.

If you plan on playing AoC and really want the background of the timeframe and setting the game will be in, go read.

Hour of the Dragon

Probably my favorite book and as I said,  its what the game world is focused on for a time setting in Conan's life.

http://gutenberg.net.au/    <----Go there and search for Conan, you will find all of the books and they are free to read.
