On another side note though, I was in a bad mood when I blamed it all on SOE

Heh.. Even a simple ass "happy birthday" thread has to become a battle... geez... I swear you just can't escape them.. lol.. It's like they follow you wherever you go.. Soon they will start messaging you in-game, and shouting in your Voip.. I woulnt be suprised to see a few "picketing" your workplace either... These unsatisfied customers mean business man.. And they will not stop until the world is theirs! lol.. A little dramatic, but gets my point across well doesn't it? “There are dread secrets that none may know and have peace. More, secrets that render whosoever knoweth them an alien unto the tribe he belongs to, that cause him to walk alone on earth, for he who takes, pays.” -E. Hoffmann Price |

Originally posted by Anarchist420 I was actually referring to people who like to say the game is crap without ever having played it themselves or not having logged in in months to see what's changed -- not those who say it's crap because they honestly just don't like it. I fully understand that there are people out there that just don't like the game, and that's cool. However, I also understand that there are a group of people on these boards who like to do nothing more than spread disinformation. When people qualify their opinions with fact, they don't get much pushback. But when they say something along the lines of the game is a failure with no other reason than because I said so, well, they can expect a response, especially if it isn't true. I'm really not trying to come across as argumentative or as a flamer. I don't even play the game myself right now, although I have been checking in with the game on and off, and I was a subscriber up until about a month ago. In my honest opinion, the game is not bad, and it has more than a few good points (large world, interesting quests, diplomacy, top notch crafting, variety of classes and races, etc.). To simply say that it's a waste of coding seems a little misleading to people who might otherwise be willing to give the game a try. Anywho, thank you for responding and clarifying your thoughts. I appreciate the civil tone in your posts!

The game actually still needs a hell of a lot doing to it before i would actually call it monthly subscription ready. Ok so they have done some things but so far it just isnt enough to justify a monthly payment, maybe if they halved the monthly cost it may, just may, be worth beta testing then, but i for one aint going to pay a full monthly subscription to test a broken game for them to fix. I am, still quite surprised that the game made it to 1yr, something i would have bet against. However i do know it is just the die hard fans who are more than likely left in there. I did take a look during the come back to us (free month) offer, and still found it wanting in many ways (see earlier post). Maybe if the game hits 2yr old it may be worth paying for, but by that time it will be obsolete anyways. The game would be dead right now if certain games had been released on time anyways, but they keep getting postponed and put back time and time and time again. When these hit over a year you have to start thinking something is wrong (seen a few do this after 1.5yrs and subsequently getting canned). |

The only way to keep this game alive, i believe, and to increase its populations would be to make it free, with in-game items to sell for real cash. Since SOE is in favour of it i dont see why they will not do it in a near future.
yay, btw, happy birthday!!! RIP Orc Choppa |

OMG !! This did make me LMAO : "We can't thank the players enough for making the world of Telon what it is today". Actually we can't thank Sigil, Micro$oft nor $OE either, so I guess there's no one to be thanked about that
