Its only a game until you lose ! |
This game is a huge money making scam. They pretend its hard to get rid of the farmers when in fact the farmers pay NCsoft extra money on the side to be able to farm and macro. NCsoft bans legit players that feel pressured to macro after seeing that alot of people do it and dont wanna be left behind so they ban them to save face. Yes they let the obvious farmers make farmer clans even. I just hope that aion will be different. |

I'd like to see some proof that NCSoft is encouraging the farmers/gold spammers. As far as Aion goes... it will be the same as every other mildly successful MMO game. There will be gold farmers everywhere. |

Perhaps you don't see the reasons it's hard for them to ban farmers...
They can ban you for the macro stuff.
They can ban you for external monetary transactions.
They have to be able to verify it first.
If they look into a guild or even one person who is "obviously" a farmer, they have to be able to catch that farmer doing something illegal, not simply hacking away at mobs endlessly. They have to track that character for macros, which the farmer may not be using. They also have to track the money sellers and try to link them to those players and guilds.
Hell any smart sellers know enough to have an account not linked to their guild and to make a lowbie character that they transfer money to in order to sell. Hell they even could use a trial account to make a character to sell you the gold.
What is NC gonna do then? Ban a trial account? They may do that, but it in no way allows them to solve the problem because the actual farmers and guild remains intact and within legal boundaries. |

| Eh...it works... MMOs I remember: AC, AA, DAoC, EQ, EQ2, L, L2, PS, LOtrO, DDO, Planetside, BE WW2, WoW, Ryzom, SWG, TR, CoX, HL, DR, PT, Exteel, Guild Wars, AO, Archlord, Dreamlords, Atlantica, Entropia, EVE, FF XI, Maple Story, Ogre Island, Planeshift, Rappelz, RFO, Runescape, MXO, SotNW, SL, Vanguard, UO, WAR, PotBS. There are private servers with scripted bans of bots that works perfectly. Get a clue kid. Some bots is hard to take down but none of those used in la2, these can be detected easily. Botters stand for 30-50% of accounts in La EU/US, thats why they are not banned. NCSOFT dident take action in time and the plague spread.
They dont need to verify anything, they can do EXACTLY whatever they wish, that is why we got more bots online at peak houers than real players. NC can no longer make a proffit out of banning botters, thoe who left because of bots is not comming back so banning bots will only make them lose even more money. Those who are left is Majority botters or ebayers. A small procent is legit but those are probebly only legit because they play casual, to keep up with other and to compeat you either need to play 24/7 or bott/ebay/share account. The bar is set so high for high level pvp that legit players have a hard time to keep up. |

Haven't really found anyone that I would call corporate snitch..or whistle blower that has divulged any pertinent information regarding NCSoft's official or "under the table" dealing with "farming companies" in Asia. Therefore if you are not a troll
Thank you, if you are indeed not a troll
But if you are, then obiviously you won;t post on this thread ever again, will you? |

Originally posted by rishaki Unfortunately this is what I base my overall feelings as far as NCSoft's actual stance on botters. However, this said it is NOT proof. I have yet to meet an actual farmer or worker from the company that will act as a whistle blower to verify this. Evidence is what we need and at this time none seems to be available as this would shatter NCSoft as an honest and viable gaming corparation.
Most of us long time players have wondered about this. I remember reading in an archival Warcry forum back when L 2 was in beta in March, 2004 that people were skeptical even that early in development. But folks, we truly need evidence before we hang the game or the company. |
