I say let Sid have a stab at STO. He would no doubt be a giant step up compaired to P2. |

Sid Meier is a great designer. I would like to see him tackle something like STO or better yet, a new SWG. |

I have enjoyed all of his games thus far, and I think he would be likely to make an excellent MMO (as long as he doesn't blow the budget on a complete revamp half way thru development like another famous designer...) I would hope he could come up with a new IP, or get the rights to something different than the generic fantasy MMO. |

OK if it happens we will be in beta in 2015 so no rush. |

I'd rather he do a new IP for his game. I got complete faith in Sid, I even loved Civcity Rome. But as for Paramount's ability to shut up and not force him to make WOW with Phasers, not so much. |

LOL! That soon? I think 2015 is optimistic, one thing he's never done is rush a game. When a console title like Revolution is 2-3 years in the making..I'd hate to imagine his progress with an MMO... |

I'd probably play it. Sid Meier is a gaming genius in my mind. It also means I'll be about 10 years older before it has a chance of coming out... that's kind of sad. :P |

Sid Meier only became a gaming genous because he was allowed to do his job. Today, guys like Sid Meier would never have spawned out of the gaming industry. Having designers that design what they want to, and make the game they want to make, without being hampered by papertigers and marketing and investors? Not possible.
Hopefully ol' Sid gets free reigns when it comes to developement, ideas, vision and game mechanisms. But in this world.... don't keep your hopes up for that to happend.

If you look what Sid Meier's did with Model Trains, then you can tell he will make a truly fantastic mmo. |

I would fully endorse a Sid Meir's attempt at MMO play. He could be the dev that creates that next generation MMO folks clamor so much for. |

Oh....
Ah....
1 more turn...1 more turn...1 more turn...1 more turn... :)
I wonder if it would be GBT, and if they would put a limit of turns per day? :)
At any rate, I would be interested, as long as Sid is able to do his stuff and not constantly answering to investors/producers (1 meeting a month cap). I know many designers can't focus, they are distracted all the time with meetings, upon meetings, upon meetings. - "If I understand you well, you are telling me until next time. Maybe an online version of Pirates! ?? That game is so addicting "If we don't attack them, they will attack us first. So we'd better retaliate before they have a chance to strike" |
