SOE has released a preview of Game Update 42, which will bring new epic items and quests, three Gods, new pet controls, and more.

Game Update 42 isn't your usual home-grown update; it's almost an expansion unto itself. With this onslaught of information, you'll gain access to Adventuring as well as Tradeskill Epics, the introduction of three gods from Norrathian lore, a new means to interact with your pets, a connectivity window to know how the internet weather is between you and the servers, a means to better search the broker through effect name and some VERY helpful household items, including a couple to permit you to show off your hard earned equipment!

Epics
All 24 classes will be seeing some new quests and items implemented in Game Update 42, in regards to Epics. These are certainly not your momma's Epics either; they'll test your skill and knowledge of Norrath. Some items touch back to FAR earlier times, so deep knowledge of history (touching on EverQuest lore and even going as far back as EverQuest Online Adventures, 1000 years in the past!) will really help you in that progression. This does indeed mean that lore junkies will be getting a feast from all directions, and answers to some long-standing questions!

Awesome update! Darn! makes me wish I still had my subscription...=P

i m thinking about giving this another shot myself.....thing is, i will either have to buy a toon on bazaar, or be willing to play by myself for about 70 levels........

Hold up a sec...weren't they advertising the "Epic Weapons" as content from the last expansion pack? I seem to recall seeing early on, when the expansion was announced they talked about how they were adding epics back to the game in that expansion.  So this is another case of something not finished when they launched the expansion.... they do this EVERY time and act like its something cool and suprising instead of something that didn't make it in time for the expansion, same old same old from SoE.....

Though I like the idea of "Epics", SoE resisted making them early on, people wanted them when the game launched, how many expansions are we in and they finally put them in?
