i am patching the game know.

and i would like to know what server is the best to join and what class is a good starter one. and what the game is like with quest.

ifi t helps i come from WOW and DAOC. top games i have played.

andi f someone can help me and show me around some to that would be rocken!!

I played on Chilestra.  Many people have stated it has a decent population and I have to agree given the current state of the game. It is the one I played on.   Bria is probably more populated.  If you are european, Chimera is supposed to be the most populated.

In order to level you are basically required to quest.  You can however do mission terminals for leveling too.  Both options give good xp.  The quests are very linear and are often very repetative (my opinion).  Doesn't mean you won't have fun and I hope you do.  I just find the quests boring.  Kill this many x, deliver from point A to point B, and repeat.

If combat is your thing you have several classes to pick from, if you want to test your patience and wit, try a trader.  Just realise that you may not sell to many trader goods till you can craft items to max experimentation with the way the game is currently designed.

Official forums have many specific guides for anything you may want to do.  Like crafting.

As far a showing the ropes, go to the official forums and search guilds and look for recruiting.  Also in your character options you can flag yourself as looking for a group.  In short, try to join a guild.

Whats your bandwidth?

Took me 30 secs to analyze/check files then patch ~3-4 mins.

i have cox high speed internet. if that is what you mean. it went from 2 hours al lthe way to 16 hours its takeing all night so far.this is crazy how do i fix this?

I got 100mbit down/10 up currently. Getting 1000 as soon as its officially out in Sweden. Mid/late 2008

Well, don't forget you're downloading around 5gb of stuff.  Also, you may have a superfast connection but your true download speeds will depend on how many others are downloading the trial for SWG and for all of the other SOE games.  Best advice would be to leave it on overnight and hope it's done by the morning :)

Its a huge download the only way to get quickly into the game is to buy the starter pack and the swg download isnt as bad as some downloads/updates, take WoW for instance that can take up to 24 hours just to download the trail and that isnt including the patching.
