Even though the devs can't admit it.. .. I'am sure they know it's true... and if not they're going to be in for a rude awakening if they ever do get this thing out the door. It definitely missed it's window for release or more importantly (releasing and becoming a success) by a few years now. The chance it had to really be something passed when 2006 came and went. Now it will have zero unique features except for FFA and full looting and that will attract zero customers except for pk's and thieves who want to sit around ganking everybody for shits and giggles. They put it off way too long and Warhammer, AoC and the new WoW expansion that focuses more on PvP , sieges will scoop up all the customers from 2008 onward for many long years to come. |

OMG !!!
You are so right i mean how can any company stand up to your all knowing and sage advice ? I am sure you are a multi-billionaire , i am so honored by the fact that you took the time to let us all know that DarkFall is over because you decided that. 2/10/08 |

There are probably just enough people loyal to the Cult of the Sandbox to keep the game afloat. It will not be a big success, but it might be enough to pay the bills. But I feel sorry for whoever is paying for the development. It will be a VERY long time before that investment earns out. |

No it isn't strange. Maybe the guy was glad to be rid of it and didn't care anymore. So he wished them well and cut his losses. The fact remains he lost money because of it. While they just up and left and moved on to the next sucker they found to "fund" their pipe dream. |

I doubt any fanboys are interested in learning from history, but I just want to point out that there are some striking parallels among the development sagas of Darkfall, Vanguard, and Horizons. |

Actually, I disagree. I think DF has set a totally new standard never seen before by other games in development. Never has promises of beta been made so early and then held back for so long. Never has a team been so secretive in their development. Never has anyone attempted to string the public along like DF has. I don't care for it, but hey, they didn't ask for my opinion. They are doing things their way for whatever reason, and who knows what we'll see from them. I'm still expecting a death ray that they'll use to help Greece take over the world.

When DF comes out, it will be a huge hit. To OP. Those unigue features from WAR and AoC originated from DF, and if you think it will attract zero customers than you must be a WoW pansy. You think WoW will scoop up the customers? AHAHAHA. No it won't, it will scoop ujp even more Carebears than it already has right now. On the other hand there are a bunch of x-WoW players crossing over to DF, wanting more than carebear features that WoW has. Damn Pansy Carebears. |

I mean, lets say DF is released (lol) and you play AoC. What would be the feature that would keep you in AoC? Personally, i cant come to think of a single one. And you dont seen to understand that there are players that not like linear and static MMOs. Im forced to pretend to be interested in them because there is nothing else. But even if i get AoC, WAR, TCoS, Hello Kitty Online and Aion.......i will stop playing them if any good sanbox MMO is released. |

Originally posted by daarco Don't you have to have a game before you can be threatened? AoC and WAR have THE MOST IMPORTANT thing. They have an actual game. AoC and WAR will both release this year. Darkfall (Deadfall?) will.... remain vapour.
Arguing about DF features is like arguing which is more real, the tooth fairy or santa claus. |
