1.2 When will the beta start and can I be a beta tester?
A Closed beta testing is likely to begin in the Spring of 2008. The initial closed beta wll be limited mainly to experienced testers, with more people being invited to join the closed beta as it progresses. After the conclusion of the closed beta, time will be taken to fix any problems that the testers found before starting the open beta.
As CME need more testers, an invitation will be posted on the official forums and then the official website. Please watch both these locations for the invitation into the beta.

Beta has not yet been announced. They may be getting close though because the reps are starting to reply to threads about it on the official site and they recently asked the community about what kind of beta testing toolsets we'd like to see in the game. No dates yet though.

I imagine they will heavily publicize their open beta like the other MMOs do. :P

I agree I cant wait... that said though CME has the go ahead to make this game good and not to release it before they are ready so it might take a while but it should be worth it.

It looks cool I've seen the show on tv a couple of times its not bad.

Hopefully the public beta will be this spring as rumors are claiming.  Any news on how/where to sign up for a public beta?

I hope its soon , I cannot wait either . But , hopefully the longer they take the more polished the game will be , not like some other MMO's (TR , LOTRO)

Not to be a killer here,  but Beta has been stated to be around Spring,  not open beta but beta,  so  as the devs have said time and time again,   just  keep posting, and keep in touch with the forum  and you may get a chance at beta

though if Closed beta is in spring,  open beta could most likely be in late fall,  to late winter  of this *or next * year

does seem like beta is pretty far our on this one may have to find something else to play in the mean time do they have a website up with breakdown on classes etc?

The official website and forums are at www.stargateworlds.com  You should be able to find most info there but I suggest using www.stargateworldswiki.com if you are just looking up info about the game itself.

Apparently the way to register for the beta right now is to simply register on their forums per this notice I just found there. (dated 2/28/08)
