I'm feeling kinda saucy so I figure I'll give the hardcore gaming of Eve a shot. Wish me luck ;p |

Make sure you do the tutorial! That way you won't have to ask a hundred questions in the rookie channel. Eve really isn't all that hardcore, especially for new players - just find something you don't mind repetiving over and over for hundreds of hours so you can make isk/money. |

Welcome to Eve. Hope you enjoy it and stick around. Like Silencia said, do the tutorials, the game can have a steep learning curve and may seem daunting but once you get the hang of it it really isn't that bad. Don't feel like you have to mine or farm npcs and missions all day to make your money however, there are many ways of making money in the game. Just take a read over on the official forums for helpful links and there are the in game help channels, the starter corps can be friendly at times as well. Good luck and have fun doing whatever you feel like doing in game. |

Take a look at EVE University if you plan on sticking around for awhile. It's a nice starting point until you figure out what you want to do. They've got some great video tutorials on things like your overview and scanner. Good luck, hope ya enjoy EVE! |

Good luck Koma, and whatever you do, remember to have fun! EVE can feel daunting, frustrating, even utterly pointless at times, but find what you like to do and stick with it, and that'll pave you over the 'bad' times. And when the good times come, it feels twice as nice to have accomplished something. Don't worry about taking a break if you don't feel like playing, just put a long skill on (Battleships 5 is a good one), and come back when you've had a breather. I like to take a break when I don't have a clear idea on my goals; I still keep watching the game, and when something strikes my fancy I jump back in and try to achieve it. Seems to work for me. For starting up, there's lots of info on this forum and EVE-Online forums New Citizens section. Read up, and you'll save a lot of frustration later. Remember that there's no substitute for trying it yourself, though. |

Although I'm sure you've already gotten started, just in case you didn't know how to create a good character, I'd recommend you read this and decide if you want to reroll now before you get too far down the road. "Just because you aren't paying doesn't mean it's not PTW." - Amaranthar |

I've just started playing it yesterday - i'm surprised at how many new players seem to be joining daily, for a game so old. Interface/visuals/polish also impress me. |
