Hmm. This schedule does not seem to bode well for a Q2 2008 release. Maybe we will see it by then, but if they have all these show points nailed down, why no formal Launch date nailed down? Well, we shall see. |

Yes, actually this is kind of disappointing. I don't know why, but would they still be showing WAR at these events if the game were already released? Maybe, but if not, it looks like Q4 2008 will be the release if they are still "showing it off" in August.

I have to disagree. Their marketing schedual has no impact on the release schedual. There is more to marketing a successful game then just pre release hype. A certain other MMO was release years ago and is now running TV ads to spur interest.
If EA/Mythic stopped trying to generate interest in WAR after it's release then it will be a disservice to the game and a total failure. |

Originally posted by thranmorrow DAoC Road Trips happen all the time. I expect the same to continue for WAR. My comments were to the tone of the announcements and venues. They seemed more like 'See whats happening with the Developers and the Upcoming Game", rather than "Check out the release!". We shall see. |

Originally posted by Shoal Usually bomb dropping hints for release schedules are going to be in official posts about the release date. Which would also mean people like with AoC push backs would get pissed if that hint or release date didn't happen. While I hope it releases before August too I also...will be there on Day one Ready for action!
Besides dev's are constantly at work before, during and after release :) And as of the moment it is an Up and Coming Game so...don't beat yourself down too much Shoal hehe Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. Aye, I am seeing an octoberish release as well. I understand showing the game off might have nothing to do with actual release dates, but regardless many other mmo's with stable information on the game (complete class lists, general information on the game well known, in other words 99% is done tweaking and tuning is undergoing) still have taken a while to release, and WAR does not seem to even be at that level completly yet.
Really seeing an september-october release, and if not likely 2009. ![]() |

Originally posted by Szark I will hazard an educated guess of June 30th, 2007 for release - it makes the 2nd quarter *cough* Also, they really need to release before the kids go back to school after labor day; release dates between Sept 1st and Halloween just don't garner the kind of impact numbers and adoption any company wants for a software release. School expenses along with a lot of coursework, parents spending more time helping their kids with their homework means less playtime for gamer-parents. A July 1st-ish release gives it 2 months to gain steam, word-of-mouth and increased sales. If they cant hit that target then they are better off waiting until a Halloween release for the Christmas fall/winter season where more people are indoors. Just my 2 cents, x PS someone should tell them not to bother with Canada - not enough gamers up there to bother with xkey was here |

I do have to apologize, with all the posts decrying the impending doom of this title it's getting hard to filter out the noise.
I do plan to be at the Toronto game's day, seeing as I work at one of the largest game stores in southern ontario it's kind of my business to be there and see the first hand stuff. |

Sorry to burst the 'it's going to be delayed again' bubble, but since when roadshows all have to have prerealse stuff? Perhaps this is just for marketing only and has nothing to do with the actal game release? As someone said DAoC do roadshows, EvE, CoX, even Blizzard have fanfests.. WAR just is doing the same.. plus as many already said this is actally positive news as Mythic may be starting with a roadshow launch party. Bring on the WARRRRGGHH! |
