I'm sure this subject has been broached many a time, but I am wanting to know how a MMO with combat where ranged attacks are going to be aimed is going to work. Now don't get me wrong I love the idea but when aiming ranged attacks isn't each individuals connect going to play a huge roll in the ability to hit targets as well as to be hit? I've played FPS's on a very competive level and latency plays a huge roll the ability to hit targets, and from what I can gather hitting a target with a spell or arrow will be alot like trying to hit a guy in quake or unreal w/ a rocket launcher, railgun, etc... If you get two players of approx. equal skill and one is playing w/ a 20 ping and the other a 120 ping, i think you know who is going to come out on top an overwhelming majority of the time. Does DF have a way to compensate for this? Or are those that live across the country from the server they are playing on going to be at a huge disadvantage to those who live considerably closer? |

Everyone knows there is no lag on servers based in Greece. I think there's a few other issues that need to be resolved before this one. |
