Just thought I would respond to this speaking from the perspective of a casual player who plays maybe 10 hours a week. So a couple of 1 to 2 hour sessions and 3 hours on a Friday and Saturday night. Yes grind sucks. My time is limited, my time is valuable to me. Those mechanics put in by developers to try and slow the hard-core players who play 30 or 40 hours week - really piss me off. No I dont want to be max level in a month. I think the people who race to max level, and then complain there is no content, what do we do now are .... Okay I wont go there as I dont want to start a flame war. I like to explore, I like to enjoy the journey, I like to do most of the quests I can find. I even like to do the CP battles which have no goal - just to defeat the onrushing hordes. I am happy to answer the occasional question in chat, and if I dont have a specific objective for that play session I am happy to help someone else do an instance, or complete some missions I have already done. Since when did society award easy-goers and lazy-fools? Wow - how does one respond to that. Perhaps instead of lumping everyone into the lazy basket you might look around and realise that many people are at different places in their lives and have different priorities that are not the same as yours and treat them with the same respect you expect. When a game is targetted at casual players - as T.R is, its fine to ask for more - but I think its silly to demand it, and label the game a failure if it doesnt deliver what someone in the non target demographic wants. If T.R doesnt get enough players who keep playing and is forced to close - well then yes its a failure. Otherwise as long as it keeps running and makes a profit for its investors it hasnt failed. It might not be the raging success they wanted - but thats a different issue. |

I can only speak for myself. And so far for me the game hasnt failed to meet my expectations. After 3 months I have a level 34 Engineer, and a level 27 Biotech. Maligo base on plateau is the first bugged instance I have encountered. I did bypass Mires. So luckily I have managed to play behind the bug fixing curve. I agree the crafting is pretty useless. I have a footlocker full of components and nothing useful to do with them. I would like to be able create a weapon from scratch. On the flip-side I can see your point of view and you are completely entitled to feel mad, ripped off and post accordingly. |

Reward slackers? What the hell do you call it when a company fills up a game with repetitive material, copy and pasted terrain then asks you to go over it many times over, many different times, for many different people, every single time to date with Endgame? Here's a clue - Blizzard did it and they get rewarded by 10 million people. This is an early game coming into a very crowded genre, with material in the making and it's clear it wasn't finished when it was released. Given time it may transcend everything, but seriously grouping issues? Go into WoW, have a conversation with someone, try looking for group and find a bunch of rogues and hunters and never a tank or healer - and then you'll see why there's solo content in a MMORPG. There's a huge difference between having soloable content, and never needing to party. You're not alexander |

That comment at the end was a sig I had along time ago for all you whinners who complained the grind was horrible in L2. Of course, in L2 the end-content was where the game truly shined and alot of you grindfest whinners never did see the merit of getting rewarded the end-game content in L2. GRIND sucks? You wanna be max level in a month? |

I dont buy the solo thing. I really enjoy TR because I can solo and not have to stand around screaming LFG for 2 hours just so I can do the next mission. TR has a nice blend of the two. Most times when I am fighting there are other players fighting alongside me and we didn't have to group. Hardly any instance is soloable, I have tried and it can be done but it takes ages. The game supports open play which means even though you are not in a group you naturally play with other people around you. Screw the forced group style. God help me if I see another game with people screaming out for an exact class at an exact level and race. No wonder I get bored....

Originally posted by Nomatica Actually i hear the new update is not so easy, and people are calling it "forced grouping" when in fact it is merely tthe developer making the game meet their original design ideas. So you may be in for a big surprise should you play again after the latest patch comes out. I hear it can be played on the test server. Maybe someone who subscribed and plays regular can speak to this more accurately.
