ok this game can't have a user rating of 8.6.its just stupid this game should be at 7ish smth

its realy not that good,somehow all the game ratings changed alot lately

but from now on just rate it super low it doesn't deserve to be above all other games!

Its pretty much always the same when a new game is released. Everyone is hyped by the game, comes on here and gives it a really good review. It is probably better to look at its score in a month or so, I strongly suspect it will no longer be at the number one position by then.

Nah, its a SHAME when haters, I mean people that havent TRULY played the game make assumptions and base their experience on only a game they played for a short period. The main focus people say, well I played BETA. Umm, did anyone tell you that BETA is a testing period, so you will have all the drama and bugs that BETA brings.

Want to be a true critic? Play the game as a solo player (up to level cap), then come back and play the game as part of a society <guild> (up to level cap). I gurantee your experience is going to be much different. If you are playing solo, you are missing a huge part of the game.

Just face the facts, the game isnt for both of you. Its not your average mmorpg with wizards and knights. The game in its sense is more strategic and based around economic warfare / faction vs faction and pvp. What other games have you played that is like PotBS?

On a different note, most of the MMO Players today are SPOILED. No offense to the new breed of gamers, but it is a damn shame you didnt witness the 1st mmorpg on the PC market. It looked like shit, but was fun as hell, it was called Ultima Online. Then when EQ started coming around, people said WTF is this? A couple months later as they kept playing, they started calling their game EVERCRACK, but you had your haters back then and said, ok people, keep your mmo, I am heading back to Counterstrike and Starsiege Tribes.

But yeah, I agree, always when a new game comes out, it is highly ranked and then it evens out. But to say the game is not that good is only valid by how much time the gamer has played it. Sounds like you folks just dropped a few hours into it and said it wasnt for me.

 I dont know why you quoted my post when I didnt mention once that I didnt like the game /boggle. Also, your assumption that neither of the previous posters have played to the level cap as solo and part of a guild are made out of complete ignorance.

I'm only replying to the comment about MMO players being spoiled. And to this i say play the game. I hope you know you put yourself into that same category. If not then please inform me on who you think most MMO gamers are. Is it everyone but you? And to this game, i have not played it nor ever wanted to veiw it. Pirates were rapists, pirates stole money from hard working citizens, and pirates murdered alot of people because they thought they could. This game is trying to make a bright subject out of a gloomy one. I understand it being just a game, but its just the reason i will not play it. To FLS, or any gaming company i ask this. Why would you make a game that only appeals to a very small niche crowd? I take it this was sort of a starter game for a comany to get reputation, other than that it seems like a waste of business sense. Goodluck and have fun with whoever is playing this game.

I said MOST mackdawg, NOT ALL, hell, I even told people on this forum I have my faults and I am not perfect in anyway by far. I am very opinionated, but who is'nt when you are on a forum. Thats why we are all here to debate and have discussions on various games we like and dislike.

But most gamers that are new today have higher expectations in video games than when I was growing up. Playing on my atari 2600 with the game that came with the console (Tank) was fantastic. When I got my 1st home computer which was a Commodore Vic 20, I used to type in programs from my favorite computer magazine. I remember one called Crazy Climber, it took me and 2 other friends to type in that game. After hours of typing, we enjoyed the game then went outside.

And last but not least, my first download was a game called Blue Max, it was 64 Blocks (Sectors) and took like 20 minutes to download, I believe at 300 baud. The game was fun!

Todays gamers are looking for the Best Graphics, the Best Sound, the Best Immersion, the Best population, Best Story, Best RP, Best bang for the buck and the best mmorpg that we can put hours into. Now if this doesnt mean your not spoiled, oh fine and well.

I understand we deserve the best, if we are using our hard earned money, but we do have a choice on what we can buy and wont buy, support and wont support.

(Oh and believe me, I have gotten spoiled myself on what games I will play and not play, thanks to this new era of gaming). Just sorry this game doesnt appeal to you since you call it gloomy, but you cant please everyone. Your going to have your nayers as well as the yayers..

I know todays economy is not the greatest and we as people dont want to waste our money on a piss poor game and this gives us the right to be choosy, but we all should be thankful for what we got now and respect what other people have to say, even if we dont see eye to eye.

I'm not... I have 3 kids. They don't play those games being refered. While my oldest is old enough to play PC games regurarly, those games is just not interesting yet. And when they are old enough to find it interesting they are also old enough to be able to not get influenced by fiction.

How old are your kids being refered to. 3-5-10-15? And why is it not possible to realize that if one cares enough to actually educate ones kid on what is right or wrong they will still have that knowledge when they get intouch with these "kind of games".

The biggest thing is not what can influense your kids from the outside, it is always how you been towards your kids from the first day. You are being rude expect your kids to be like it.

This things is quite natural. If one is having a problem getting out from a fictional reality, that you just goes "meh" if you see someone being abused(or somthing else) then that is also in conjunction to alot more thing then playing videogame.

Is there any grown up needing to specifik state that they are grown up?

What would ever be a reason to note these kind of obvious things, and thus making it on a gameforum.

What does what you type have anything to do with what i tell my kids to play and not? And how is this rude on my part. FIrst off, let me clarify you on this. I do not tell my kids what to do. Im not one of those parents that just runs around preaching to my kids of whats bad and whats not. That is for the judgement of my kids to partake on. I as an adult have made that statement my own. Actually...you're on a "forums board" for the game Pirates of the Burning Sea.  A game which you haven't played, claim you won't play, so no...your opinion isn't valued in any way, nor do you have a right to answer the OP with an opinion that has nothing to do with Pirates of the Burning Sea.

Now, if you can find a "Morality of Pirate Culture" forum, you'd probably be on the right track...
