What I mean to say is have you ever heard a company say "you know, I don't think we're doing this as well as we should be. I think we should discard our current customers and try to get a piece of our competitors action"?

Maybe they should be asking SOE why they never stood behind their product - twice.

If i could still post over on their form.

 I would have keept bringing up what i found broken and ask about geting it addresed.

The game in its curent state is only unplayable becuse of the bugs and lack of balance.

 I was sick of paying to effectivly beta test a game thats this old.

A good game sells itself.

A bad game, people will barely play for free( let alone pay for).

Sometimes, the truth is ugly, and the ugly truth is that SWG:NGE is and has been terrible.

The 250k or more cancellations say this quite clearly.

I hope they continue to complain about us.

It shows that we have done exactly what we set out to do.

The funny part is they still just dont get it,people have a reason to bitch, i actually shed a tear the day i logged out of that game forever, but theres still no closure, not until it shuts down.

I still miss my Pre CU jedi. I still have not found a mmo with the immersion we had back then. Ahh the good ole days

The thing is, many people over there think that by bringing the old vets back, or by changing online reviews, or by SOE advertising, etc, etc all of the problems for SW:G would be solved. Unfortunately it is not that simple. The game in a very real sense is dying. While three or four servers still have a decent population, the rest are basically ghost towns. SOE still refuses to give people free server transfers, literally is making everything have to have a group now, and just continues to ignore the larger problems at hand.

You know, I wish that I had one chance to make a game as loved as the old SW:G was. While it was far from perfect and it would never, ever have WoW like subscriptions, it was still a great game and experience for a good deal of people. And that my friends is what making games is all about.

Actually quite a few have defended us old vets. I resubbed for a month to try it again, (yes, I know I am enabling SOE), and remembered why I dislike it, but I've been posting over there reminding those people that many, many people will never go back, or won't go back without a rollback or classic server.

Which is exactly why we are so mad about it.

Alot of game developers have forgotten what making games is all about.  Supporting a company which is like that is essentially supporting the bleeding of the gaming community as a whole.  I prefer to instead demand better from these guys.  Not every game needs to have 10 million players to be good, and it is a vile and terrible thing to throw away something perfectly good because greed has blinded you into chasing the gaming dragon.

SOE cares nothing for gaming.  They care for money that is why they buy so many properties.  Not a single one of them outside the Everquest model have reached us in the masses.  Their business  model has been to produce low and sell high.  Its very sad.
