aah don't have it right now , a quoted  $OE developer  saying something like following :

 "We $OE  planed  and executed  our plan by developing NGE. "

LA  had only to approve it, and what you usual approve in business situations ? Short  the plan  the design, i am not sure if any LA official saw some working NGE in real time enviroment and on paper  some stupid ideas looking awesome sometimes.

Who has done what in the end no one will know  for sure. Especially if something fails all  responsible lack of memory.....

I was never a huge SWG fan. When I first tried it my pc which was barely 6 months old could not run the game. Finally when I was able to run the game I bought the expansion jump to lightspeed so that I could play swg and see what space combat was like.  I didn't mind the ground game too much. Although I felt that when they allowed people to build stuff anywhere it really messed up the game to me. It seemed like instead of finding wandering mobs, storm-trooper patrols and various other things that used to go on in the desert were all gone and in their place were a bunch of abandoned buildings.

  Space combat was awful. I tried the first mission and failed horribly. I couldn't shoot anything then I spent two hours trying to figure out how to get my ship back on the ground so I could play my toon.  The tutorial did not help at all. I asked people over and over and everyone either laughed at me or ignored me - And this is from the "Veteran" pre NCU group.  Finally I called my brother on the phone and he told me what to do and how to dock with that space station thing.  I found the performers neat and I liked how tradeskills worked.  Everyone in the game seemed to have a purpose.  You needed people to repair your weapons and people to perform so you could heal up and then guess what happened?  Literally 2 weeks after I payed 40.00 for jump to lightspeed they changed the game completely. 

Enter NGE and NCU:  No one needed people who had worked hard on tradeskills. Weapons no longer needed fixing, they didn't deteriorate and performers, dancers and musicians were no longer needed.  Some of the most crowded cantinas in the game where I had alot of fun roleplaying were now dead as I imagine they still are.   You couldn't shoot mobs at all, they would some how run out of range so it was very hard to get any xp.  All classes were cookie cutters and everyone could now be a Jedi in a time when there were NO jedi. I like the idea of playing a jedi but they should have made a game like Bioware is doing with Knights of the Old Republic Online so that you could play a jedi and it still fit in the storyline.

  But that's not what pissed me off.  As bad as all of that is. What really got me is that after spending the money on the game and the expansions they then gave it to everyone for FREE and without any warning. No one knew that this was going to happen. They didn't announce it or anything. You just log in one day and the game you had played for years was gone. Some people lost their characters because a few classes were cut out of the game. People who had spent a year or two to become a jedi found that they had wasted all that time.  Plus I knew people who had literally bought the expansion the day before this crap happened and then the next day it was free.  They could at least have told people or given a refund or something. Once a game is bought you CANNOT get a refund from any store, only exchanges on media.

  What they did was unethical and just plain rude.  Imagine logging into EQ2  one day to find that all Dark Elves were gone along with the whole game and in it's place was a different game were all the classes did the same thing and all the expansions that you had just bought were given out free without you even being told beforehand.  This is what SOE did to SWG.

  But I could care less what happens to soe and swg. I hope swg is shut down because there is a New and Better Star Wars MMO coming out by a much better company called Bioware.  SWG is dead, All Hail Knights Of The Old Republic - what SWG should have been in the first place.

to the op: yes we have won and yes SOE is the joke of the gaming company now and Im glad so many veterans stood strong against SOE's tyranny...

at least by now the know we where not the minority :)

well we have won the first day NGE hit live meaning of , we experienced what no one else can now.  We were part of of the greatest MMO adventure  ever existed (may some more exceptional experiences follow with some other genius designed online world)

With the current mediocre design onlymediocre experience can be made.  That  makes feel more comfort with the loss.

I love it when people judge others based on a post count, just reminds of how pathetic some people can be.

My post count is over 1000 because I enjoy a good converstation, particularily if it's about SWG.

I am however sorry if that offends you.

The bottom line here is that SOE dropped the ball so many times with SWG its pathetic. The incompetence that SOE has shown not only with this game but with just about every other game they now own is amazing. You can take your pick of whatever version of SWG you want and they were all buggy as hell, unbalanced, rubber banding nightmares.

This is one of the most recognized IP's in the world and this is the treatment it got? Its the joke of the gaming industry and everyone here knows it. I dont want pre-cu, cu or the nge I would just like a SW MMO that works. SOE is most ass backwards developer on this planet. How about trying to fix the game you had instead of the lame  "combat upgrades" and "new game enhancements" Who the hell thinks of these stupid names anyways. This game has never seen an upgrade in all of its pitiful existence and I dont know how you can consider taking shit out of a game enhancing it.

As someone else in this thread said the best thing that could happen to that game is just to shut it down or at the very least get it away from SOE. You can only blame LA for so much here. Yes they had to have approved the NGE but Im sure they didnt know the complete hack job SOE would do to it. Its taken 2 years to fix most of the bugs the NGE caused. 2 years of wasted time and resources that only ended up in losing them subs. Pure brilliance.

These forums could be flooded with SWG defenders (if there are enough of them left to flood with) and it still wouldnt change a thing. The people here that complain, the people here that defend ,SOE couldnt care less about any of us.They have never cared about its customers or the quality of its games.

I dont know why anyone would want any version of SWG from SOE. Are people so desperate to play this game that they would happily go back to the people that they have complained about for the last 2 years? Thats insane. If they brought back pre-cu or classic servers do you all honestly believe it would be the way it was? 200K+ people all coming back just to get shafted again? At one point I might have but 2 years later...No

For me the only hope for a good SW MMO is a SW MMO that has nothing to do with SOE. I dont think SOE is THE BIG EVIL CORPORATE EMPIRE. I think they are really just a bunch of no talent hacks with some of the worst leadership ever seen in any corporation.
