The team from The Chronicles of Spellborn stopped by our IRC on Sunday to talk about their game. This chat, the second that we have had with these developers, focused on the lore and world aspects of the upcoming MMORPG.

The more I read the more I really hope this game succeeds and that I am playing at release. |

The statues and world changing events sound awesome, and although I doubt I will ever get to complete one first and get a statue it will still be cool to be able to see who did and know that 'Jimmy the warrior' was the one that brought about the second cataclysm. Not sure if you’re going to have a follow up session like the last chat or if you can ask these questions as well even if you do, however: I am curious to know that with the game being somewhat based on 'what lies hidden must be found' and world changing events (and the unique statues that go with them), what the TCoS team plan to do about online help guides telling players where all the hidden stuff is, especially in relation to any servers brought online post release? Also, what about power levelers that will grind for days and get multiple people to play their account in order to secure all the statues? Will such a thing be possible, or are these events triggered more randomly, so power leveling may give you an advantage, but you would still only have say an 0.2% chance of getting it compared to the other 998 players 0.1% chance? I ask these questions because after playing WoW and putting up with the whole raiders vs non-raiders thing I am really looking for a MMO where literally anyone can truly do amazing things, and not just have to take a back seat while only those who play 40 hours a week and/or have corporate sponsorship get to do the fun stuff. TCoS is looking very promising in this regard (although WAR doesn’t look too bad either) but I think it would be a great pity if half the statues in town were of Jimmy the power leveled warrior and his band of basement dwelling buddies instead of random previously unknowns who just happened to be the right (or wrong) place at the right time. |

Its the game that promises to return a healthy challenge to MMo's Great Lore, good combat system.
The only thinbg i still don't get is : Why is there no US publisher yet... My best bet is, the publisher have no interest yet because the big gaming sites are not reporting on this game, and the gaming sites are not reporting on this game because their is no US publisher yet.
Well, if i was a US compnay with capacity to publish and host a game like this, i'd make sure to stand in front of the line. |

Originally posted by acidbloodTo your first question.... there is absolutely nothing they can do about spoiler sites (except sewing them, which would take to damned much money) On your seccond question, ... , playing this game requires skill, and you can grind as many hours if you like (Major form of XP is quests) while someone with less time but much more skill just fixes things in less time then you do..... If you buy someone to powerlevel your character , you're likely not will get the skills required to play at a decent level. Since this game is not gear based , but actually requires skill to play.... only the most skilled players will do the truely amazing things and not the players devoting most time....

With the 'power lvl/gamers taking all the content' issue, I think most of the really interesting stuff will be found through descovery not by level, so for those power players that rush to cap they may run stright past one of the most reveleing parts to the game as it may be likly way off the road to cap.. with whats been said in this chat tonight I beleave the dev team have known this and 'what lays hidden' isn't a simple as cap your character to find it, it's more then likly hidden between the lines of text of the lore, quests and somewhere you'll never think to go |

No Saint. The devs have a working deal with their European and possibly their Asian publishers to allow people from other regions use their servers. So atleast with the European version there won't be localization of IP issue. But without a North American publisher any of us in the states or canada will have to deal with higher latency and less than ideal customer service. |
