This game sounded interesting, so I went to sign-up for the "free 14-day trial". It requires you enter a credit card that will charge  you $20 (more than the normal monthly fee) and then start charging the regular fee. The only way to avoid the charges is if you login and manage to cancel your account within 14 days.  Rather than make it simply deny you access when the time is up, you have to rely on them to ensure your account is deactivated before the 14-days. lolz.
If you cancel after 15 days, they still get about 2-months worth of payment from you anyways doh. losers.

With so many other "true" free-trials or just plain ol' free MMORPGS I thought this was rather lousy of them. If a free-trial is free i aint given them anything they can charge lolz. dont trust anyone, sorry. hahahah.

hahaha same here, but im sure they are betting on ppl forgetting about the 14 days and still getting money if they cancel anyways. you'd think ppl would think the game is so bad arse that they would go "darn no more access cuz of 14 days. it was so great i will buy a monthly subscription!"

marketing-wise, WWII Online is in a sense saying subtlely,"Our game will probably suck, so make sure you cancel within 14 days if you don't want to get charged for $20!"

or

"Let's at least make sure we charge them a special charge bigger than the normal monthly fee in case they quit us after 14-days, cuz in the past alot ppl have signed up, found it sucked, and quit"

Name a Play for Pay game that does not requrie a CC to try their free time play. WoW and EVE all others do this.  If you quit before the 14 days are done you are not charged. If you continue the game itself is 19 and change but you get another 30 days free. This is standard in the industry and your post shows you may be somewhat  naive as to online gaming. If you are interested you might try the game, and simply quit when time is nearly over. CRS has never failed to honor their agreements and are small enought to allow the player base to speak directly with the Rats.

Those free MMOLRPG are not acutally Massive..You mean TF2 and the other standalones that can struggle to support 32 players?

Perhaps you are too young to acutally have a CC:-)

This method is a somewhat standard in the MMO industry, deal with it... But please don't come and babble about how bad the game may be.

They all do it to get you to keep playing, if they  deny you access at the end of the trial, you may not be bothered to add all your details to continue you playing, but if it does it for you - you may just stay!

Hmm .. i don't know where you got that erroneous info. WOW and EVE trial require NO CREDIT CARD. I am also trying City of Heroes and Tabula Rasa a while back. None asked for a credit card.

The grief potential for WW2 is much higher than WoW or even Eve.

Having the ability to constantly make new trial accounts to grief the enemy would be crippling.  Not everyone would do it of course, but enough would.

It's not that hard to remember to cancel your account before the 14 days are up. I love it how people like the OP want everything done for them, they must be a very productive member of society. I can tell you right now that if you can't remember something as simple as cancelling an account then WW2OL is not for you. This game takes thought, tactics and most of all patience. There is a reason why most “WoW kiddies” stay out of games like this, and vets like it that way. Oh, and quit laughing so much in your posts, it just makes your point even more worthless.

You could probably sign up for 14 day free trial, then cancel it 20 minutes later, and still get 14 days.

Trials are supposed to be free with no strings attached, its supposed to expose as many poeple to the game as possible, the only companies requiring a credit card for a trial happen to be the same companies that are failing. hmmm I wonder why?

Its a difference in philosophy, are you putting out a trial with a credit card requ
