So i was looking up new vids etc. old ones , whatever about AOC and i found that Aoc is becoming WoW.

No joke i was very suprised but i think AOC might take the gold for next WoW clone with the exeption of different combat.

Now you ask why do i say this? Well check vid out.

http://trailer.onlinewelten.com/videos,id2905,age_conan_entwicklerbesuch.html

To me the graphixs look like an updated WoW, the toons and the MOB's in particular, the enviroment textures look like like wow's but the the stuctures or their textures . Each toon has 3 feat "talent" trees That look and work just like wow's. (You can't denine this one folks take a look at the vid).

Ok this post is a bit of a joke, i just could not believe that they all when with the lame talent trees , that blizz has been using since d2.

That being said game is looking good and offers a promise of a new mmo to play and experience. (That is acctually worth doing so.)

though i think there are some things that AOC could have done more inventive with certain functions, but for the most part its now WOW.

*Buzz* Wrong. Gameplay video means nothing, there is so much more we know nothing about in AoC. If your looking for the next WoW clone check out WAR.

And even if that weren't the case...how the hell do you gather all this from the video? I watched it...repeatedly and what you see is like...no indication whatsoever.

Graphics WoW-Like??? Did we watch the same video?

The Talent-tree...of which you see like...-ONE- picture and nothing else, it's not even switched and of which it is explained why it will differ from WoW. Did you even listen to what the people were saying in the video?

So...that said, there will probably be similarities to WoW in many many games to come. That's because WoW did quite a few things right. It doesn't mean that a game is a WoW - Clone just because you spot a similarity. -.-

You have to be the change you wish to see in the world.

I don't think War or AoC are WoW clones, i believe they will both bring new things and ideas to the industry.

I'm sure someone else will post a long reply to this, but it's obvious both games are going in diff. directions then WoW, and they are already showing they have learned from the past in not releasing a unfinished game, but we will not know untill they lauch so........chill

Unfourtanetely we will see alot of WoW clones in the future. LOTR is a WOW clone, Tabula Rasa is a sci-fi WOW clone and WAR looks like it will be quite similar to Wow but I really hope AoC wont be but I wouldnt be too surprised if it turned out to be one.

Because what excactly defines a WoW clone? I would say a casual, linear, quest driven MMORPG with a tree type skill system and a controlled PvP environment where the devs decide where and for what you PvP for. Hm, sounds quite similar to both AoC and WAR.

Right now Chronicles of Spellborn and Darkfall are the only two games that most likely wont be WoW clones.

You might want to add "successful" to your definition as well.

CoSB and Darkfall (if that game is even real) will not be successful.
