A lot of people say this game is a grind and even requires a bot.

But how would it be to level a mostly solo character without a bot? I don't mind so called grinding if it is fun, so is the combat fun. Does the world feel alive etc.?

Also, anything I should think about in class choices or other stuff if going mostly solo through the pve part?

The world doesn't really feel alive because it isn't that sort of game.

This game is based upon clan and alliance. That is the game. Clan and alliance chat is more than some chat room that is going to get you parties. They have your back, help you out, come to avenge you, etc.

If you only want to be solo and not join a clan you will most likely be bored. Unless you want to be a lone pk'er. That might work but keep in mind that many people have alts so eventually you will have some sort of higher lvl clan/alliance after you.

Money is also hard in the game as you EITHER grind for xp or grind for money. By that I mean you can either utilize potions, shots (small cyllinders that charge your attacks) etc to maximize your power and thus spend money or you can level more slowly by not using these.

What most people do is use the manor system, play the market, etc for money.

you can "solo" all the way up but at higher lvls you will need certain buffs. I play a Stormscreamer (spellhowler, dark elf mage) and it is arguably the best soloer in the game. However, without the power buff "Empower" and an acumen buff or potion it can be very slow. That is where people either party or in some cases use a second account with a buffer. so it really isn't "officially" soloing as you require another class to give you these buffs (or whatever buff your specific class needs).

If you like group pvp, clan vs clan drama and large scale battles then this game could be for you. You don't need a bot. At all.

However, some people feel the grind far more than others and they turn to such tools.

If you are looking for a game with fun quests, customization, etc then this isn't the game for you. It's about grinding, getting higher in lvl, joining a clan/alliance and battling it out.

Quests are utilitarian, the rewards are so-so at best and some don't even give xp. When they do the xp is "ok" to horrid.

So, the game is about grinding, holding territory, grinding spots.

It will take you a little bit ot get to a higher lvl. Granted, getting through the lower lvls is easier now than ever. But getting through the higher lvls is very hard.

i heard that the new kamel classes requries some thinking in pve, and no you don't need to bot to play this game but cheater's pretty much win the pvp in this game.

I would suggest getting a second account for a buffer tho but depend's on the class your going, and what kind off character you wanna play?

Thanks for the answers. I think Sovrath pretty much convinced me this game is not for me and got me to save my money. Thank you for that, even if I had hoped for another reply that one was very informative to me!

No it is not fun to grind. The Grind is horrible and repetetive and after level 40 it will takes literally houndreds of kills to ding one level and each kill is basically the same sequence of skills, imagine how it is at level 60 or 70.

I gave up at level 40, both because of The Grind and also because there was no way to afford the equipment of your level unless you had a crafter, which means even more grind.

Its a shame because I heard the PvP at level 70+ is quite good.
