Admiral we have no ships in sector 4! "its a trap!"

World of warcraft is in my opinion best played like this>

Have fun and level to 60, do some pvp, some instance, some crafting, and maby 1 raid dungeon. then stop play other games and wait for exspansion pack>>

And so on...Belief it or not but endgame and getting the fastest way to level cap is NOT the best thing in a Mmo, the best way to enjoy World of warcraft and not beinig "gear obsessed". And seem to enjoy yourself whit other games in between, or some real life, this is the way its meanth to be played.

World of Warcraft is not a bad game, just dont play to much of it, i mean you realy dont have to stick whit it until the next exspansion pack comes out, its even better to not do it. But i also know some people cant stop playing becouse of the addiction and guild, just care about yourself ...becoming addicted will make you getting to dislike the game in long terms. People who say "im bored at level 70"...for gods sake just stop playing and do something els a game isnt meanth to continue forever.

Games Playing: Lord of the Rings Online, Warhammer Online (Beta).
Games Played: World of Warcraft, Starwars Galaxies.
Games Tried: Everquest 2, Guild Wars, Vanguard, Age of Conan.

"For evil to triumph.. good men have to do nothing" - Edmund Burke

I can't stand PvPing without being max level, it just irks me.

I love zerg vs zerg, those are my favorite, like the good ol Hillsbrad Zergs and Old School AV. Those were the times..

MMORPG Character Monuments

...When its time for your character to take a well deserved rest...

I agree. WoW in the end is the best PVE game released. but there is just too much stress, competition, and responsibility placed on the individual player. PLaying it in small amounts does alleviate some of this.

Honestly, The Lower level battlegrounds are great fun. Some of the best times I have are in the Lev 40 instances. Even if players are wearing purples, there isnt too much of a disadvantage

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I''m not sure about the former.

I agree with the OP, I played, maxed out to 60 and then burned out. I quit playing, took a year off and came back with the expansion. Well, now I'm loving it again.

I think the problem isn't so much WoW, but the whole Leveling mindset. Games that have levels limit themselves as to what the vast majority of people are doing. Games that are skill based (Pre-cu SWG, W*I*S*H) made it so there was no beginner places (per-say) and you could go anywhere and find a challenge.  I think that as sad is it is to sy we will never see a non level based QUALITY game again. Why? Because people get obsessed with leveling up and thats what keeps them playing (until they cap anyway)

I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies; for the hardest victory is over self.

There was some kind of "levels" in original SWG.

In fact, the skill-based system of SWG was nothing more than "levels in disguise". The only difference between SWG and WoW, for example, as far as the leveling system goes, are :

  • there were many more classes in SWG
  • you were not limited to one single class in SWG
  • if you decided to change your class, you did not have to reroll a new character.

But, in the essence, there was levels, and in fact, there was "noob characters". Any novice at a starting profession was a very noob character, and even if you mastered Brawler, for example, that didnt make you a "high level" character.

I dont need to
"get a life".
Im a gamer, I have
LOTS of LIVES!

Well here's how I suggest you do it.

1)  Start character X and level him to 20.

2)  Start character Y and level him to 10.

3)  Play character X to level 30.

4)  Play character Y to level 20.

5)  Start character Z and level him to 10.

6)  Play character X to level 40.

7)  Play character Y to level 30.

8)  Play character Z to level 20.

9)  Star character 0 and level him to 10.

10)  You get the idea.

This method has several advantages.

1)  You won't get to max level for a long long time.

2)  Even once you do hit max level and try some end game, you'll still have plenty to do besides end game.

3)  You'll be able to take advantage of rest bonus.  Play one character till he's out of rest, then switch to another.  By the time you get back to him, you'll have a bunch of rest bonus built up which will make leveling up quicker and less of a grind.

4)  You'll be able to swap stuff between characters.  Professions are much better when shared by several characters.  I take all my stuff and send to my enchanter to enchant and then send back.  My tailor makes bags for everyone and cloths for all cloth wearer's etc.  When you outlevel pots/bandages/elixirs or whatever, pass them down to the next guy to use.

5)  No matter which friend is online and what level he is, you'll have a character about the same level and doing the same quests.  Plus, grouping up will stay dynamic because while playing with 1 friend you might be the tank, but with another you'll be the healer and with another you'll be the nuker.  You'll be able to better work within a group because you'll know not only your own role but the role of everyone in the group.

 6)  When character Z gets ganked in Stranglethorn Vale, switch to character X and get some payback.  This might be the best reason of all if you play on a PvP server.
