There never was a 'settings.xml' file. There is a 'prefs.ini' file, but all of the interesting settings have been moved into the various settings files. Those are in a binary format and not human editable.

Until Trinity, the only things worth editing in the 'prefs.ini' were options to turn on the advanced graphics options and disable EVE Voice if it caused issues. But now it can all be controlled in game.

I had to edit the prefs.ini manually to switch languages..

The path is:
%usrdir%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings

I don't even have that file. I even used googledesktop to search for it but it returned nothing.

But anyway, the person who told me was talking about a program called EVEmon.

You forgot to tell him to "show hidden files and folders" under folder options in Windows.

Unless you have Vista, in which case it would be "%usrdir%\AppData\......"

Thought that was self-explanatory.

Well, you know, there are people who know very little about computers. Even in Eve.

Why would we ever do that...

Do you have your computer plugged in?
