So I just beat the game and would like to discuss ideas about a sequel...spoiler alert right here and now, this thread will probably contain details about the game's ending
Okay so obviously the game leaves itself open to a sequel or even a modern spin off...what would you guys like to see changed, fixed, or the same from the next game?
Personally I would like more diversity in missions, they need to hire some of the guys who do the grand theft auto missions to get some ideas for how they could make the game less repetetive. For my money though, I've never seen a game with better animations, whoever did the animations for Altair needs to be given a raise.
As far as the next game's plot goes, I don't think it would be too bad of an idea to have Altair's modern self (I forget his name) finding out where the other assassin's are and joining them in their efforts to kill the leaders of the Templar...and I thought that it was very odd that one of the last assasination missions featured a man who happened to say "They are iluminated" possible reference to the illuminati? It would make for an interesting plot twist. I wouldn't put it past the writers either, given how into conspiracy theories they seem to be. Anyways...thoughts from other people? |

I definitely got a GTA vibe from the game and definitely agree with you about taking a few more pointers from GTA. I enjoyed the game a lot but I do think the assassinations got boring and repetitive pretty quickly. I didn't know much about Assassin's Creed before playing it but in my mind I was expecting something like GTA crossed with Hitman, but that's not really what it is... I expected a lot more assassinations, a lot more ways to go about assassinating people, and wasn't expecting any moral justification of which there seemed to be no end. I did enjoy the story though and didn't mind the plot twist (the one early on that is) and even though it felt kind of forced, the dialogue during the kills were interesting. The investigations need a lot of work to make them more interesting and less repetitive. They could have added more variety in the people and I would have appreciated more random banter from the crowds (hearing the Citizens you save say the exact same thing for the 10th time in a row gets old). I really liked the combat almost more than the assassinations and the animations never got old. I didn't even mind that the last part of the game degenerated into a combat fest. As far as a sequel goes...I don't know, I really like the whole medieval thing they have going on here, I don't think it would be the same if it were only set in the future, which is what I think your suggestion is. I would have to see it first. The problem I see with any sequel is how they're going to handle the historical assassinations...they've kind of gimped themselves with this whole historical thing, I'd be interested to see where they take it. And what's a conspiracy theory without the Illuminati? |

Google it, and you'll find yourself taking a trip down a deep rabbit hole to the world of wonderland... interesting stuff I might say. |

Originally posted by Korusus I think a future setting might require a more hitman type game, where disuises are at the forerfront...I suppose it would make it difficult to keep the same emphasis on melee combat (which I felt was very strong in Assassin's creed) since nobody is going to sword fight you when they have a 9 mm in the holster. But I also think that climbing sky scrapers up to the office window of an important execute would be quite the thrill. They could also work to make the combat just a little more in depth...counters to enemy counters would be really nice and would add yet another layer to the already good combat. Also, as you suggested, more ways to take out the assasination target...you always basically had two options...kill the guy with your wrist shank and run away, or start a sword fight and then shank him once everybody else is dead...and most of the time you would get discovered too soon to deliver the deathblow in the best way possible anyway...more freedom there would have been appreciated and would have gone a long way toward the replayability of the game.
By the way, what did you guys think of the fantasy type stuff that they decided to put in at the end? It sorta bothered me and I thought that it was hokey at first...but then I sorta realized what they were trying to do and realized that it was actually sort of a good move on their part. |

Although I didn't read your post, because I just started the game yesterday. I find the story confusing so far...it's drawing me out the game so can some one explain the plot to me. |
