Welcome aboard...yes, this game is much easier to start up than Lineage 2...

EU servers, Runnyeye has been noted as a good server...and lots of people are joining due to the new expansion, as well as old players returning...

For soloing (which this game excels at)...try either a Necro or a Fury (a healing based DPS class)...both make excellent solo classes...but, really, try a couple of variations, as you may find something more to your liking..

This is not a "builds" based game, but more a game of exploration and fun...just log in to enjoy an RPG, instead of how to maximize your cash flow..

Cheers!

takes less than 11 gig of space

if you do nothing but focus on levelling - can hit 80 in less than 6 months

if you do exploring and crafting,  can take 6-12 months

ahh thx :) it will porbably take me about a year then :)

better than wow...took only about 3 months to level from 1-70...and the game got kinda boring at max lvl :)

11 gigs is great....i was worried cos when i played vanguard it took 20gig just for one game...with no expansions....

Now is the best time ever to get into EQ2, a lot of players are curious as of lately and you can tell. This is one of the most improved MMORPG's I've ever played, I hated this game a few months after launch, now it's amazing

Yes now is a brilliant time to start EQ2. On the EU server Runnyeye the population has had a massive boost recently, and I can only assume this is the case on every server.

You'll have plenty of new players to join up with, and I can vouch for (most of) the old players as being helpful, friendly, and eager to play with newly rolled toons.

If your planning on starting an evil toon and have RoK, I heartily recommend starting in Gorowyn, as the new starter area there is just awesome. You don't have to play a Sarnak to start there (the new race), any evil toon can live there. It's a great starter zone with some slightly higher powered rewards to help you on your way back to the old world at level 25.

Currently returned to Norrath after disliking Hyboria.
