I just googled it and the most sites where saying that they will announce it in 2008, we will see it by then

Diablo as a MMO is an interesting idea, I just  hope it isn't a Starcraft MMO...yuck.

I for one would be excited to level up a half-elf amazon from level 1-70

There is no information about Diablo 3 as of yet because Diablo 3 doesn't exist as of yet.

All we know for sure is this:

Blizzard has a Project Hydra in the works

Project Hydra could be a MMO because Blizzard said they were working on a "next gen MMO"

However, Blizzard also revealed that the size of the team working on Project Hydra is the same as Starcraft 2, 40 people. WoW on the other hand has an operating team size of over 130 people.

At Blizzcon Blizzard said that the only Starcraft game in the works is SC2.

If there is a Diablo 3 Im guessing it will be like Guild Wars/Hellgate London. Also, very likely be very bloody and violent with mature themes. Not like WoW at all.

I hope so, because that's what I liked about the original Diablo as a kid. It really scared me in some cases with the music, lack of lighting, and not knowing if you'll get ambushed by a heroic mob or not. It really was fun because you really didn't know if the next mob will hand you your bottom, gift wrapped with a pretty bow on top.

geez i've been waiting for diablo3 from time when i played first time diablo2. though there never wasnt talk about that kind of game coming.. im not sure if blizzard wants to make more diablos even though it would really be something that would make so many fans die in anticipation

i, myself dont even care if it werent mmorpg, i would really like to play it even if it would be offline hack and slash.. such talk about diablo3 mmorpg would be nerds wet dream... atleast mine for example
