I've been trying the last 4 hours to get on the official sony EQ2 forum to ask a couple questions and still no cigar. I was having issues with the 'new topic' button not popping up on the forum, and evidentaly according to their tech pages its a fairly common problem. Anyways, its nice to get on a forum now where the registration and layout works the first time without any problems (took me 5 min total to find this and create a registration, so regards to MMORPG.com thank you) . I've been wanting to get into another MMORPG since canning WOW (good game BTW) but wanted to ask some questions about EQ2 before investing some life into it: 1: What is the monthly fee? 2: I was looking on newegg.com and found about 4 different versions. is there just 1 version of EQ2 I can buy that includes all the updates?? 3: Also the newest one on newegg called Everquest II: Rise of Kunark doesn't seem to have recommended requirements listed, so i'm wondering if this system I'm running would run it at full settings or close to it at hopefully at 30fps or more. Windows xp home Thanks for readin' and appreciate any responses. |

There are 4 expansions and 3 Adventure Packs (mini expansions) Echoes of Faydwer (3rd xpack) includes the original game and the 3 expansions for about 20 dollars with 30 day free time. Rise of Kunark (latest expansion) includes the original game and all four expansions plus all 3 adventure packs for about 40 dollars with a free 30 days.

Thanks for the quick reply fella's. I think I'll go ahead and get the rise of kunark since it has all of it. One last one I forgot to ask is if Dial-up is sufficient enough? It usaully runs about 22kb down and 19 up. Thanks. Jamison |

some people play EQ2 on dialup but you are going to have a very long patch download when 1st starting |

It's certainly possible to try and run it on Dial up. My Cousin had a system that was inferior to yours when EQ2 launched, and he had dial up on top of it. He managed to play it with long load times, but the performance was definitely not ideal. |

The CPU and ram will hurt here. 2 gigs of ram, and at least a 3Ghz cpu is best (I overclocked my Dual Core to 3Ghz @1333 FSB, and it moves amazingly well now) Good luck tho! Cheers! |
