Just played for the first time with a 3 day trial. The one thing I noticed is that when I aim at a creature and move the mouse cursor slower, it jumps. It isn't smooth. Makes it difficult to aim at creature that are at long distances. Is there anything I can do to make this better? |

Sounds like graphicas lag. I don't have any problems with my mouse movements unless my FPS gets too low. When in game, hit F4 to bring up the FPS monitor and run with it a while in combat....you don't want to see that number drop below 30FPS and if it does.....lower your settings a little. |

Nope.. I get 90 FPS in the training area. Nothing seems to lag. It's just that the mouse movements are not smooth movements.
The mouse moves consistently the same way. |

Try playing with the mouse sensitivity a little bit. Then again i have to admit that i dont suffer from this problem (or i just dont notice it after 7 months of playing) |

If you're going to stick it out there, don't be afraid if you get it cut off. |

I experience the same problem. I feel the people that claim "no prob" are in denial. The game doens't run smooth even with high-end machines and customizable settings. You are not alone, but there are a lot of fanbois that like to defend their games here. I think TB is a decent game, but I'm not going to lie and say it's something it's not. |

Are the rollers on your mouse dirty? Maybe all you need to do is clean the mouseball and associated rollers.
Plz disregard if you have an optical. |

The game is running pretty smooth. By mouse smoothing I mean mouse precision maybe. Here is how I do it. If you are in windows.. move your cursor very slowly. Notice how it responds and moves the whole time. Now do that in game. It just doesn't respond the same way. I doesn't always move. If you move the mouse fast it is fine.
Edit: I would deserve to be shot if I was using a ball mouse. |

I've got the same problem with the "jerky" mouse. Not smooth at all. I tried playing with mouse sensitivity, but that didn't alleviate the problem.
Any fix?

All might want to post their Mouse and Settings specs. There is a huge difference between the performance of a Sneaky-Peat's $10 ball mouse in software mode on the shiny desktop, and a Logitech G5 running in Hardware mode on an optical no-slip pad. More info would help. |

Originally posted by Fuhyo Exactly my point. The Habu is a top-of-the-line, $70 msrp gaming mouse. What does the OP have? That is the question. And all the other folks having cursor problems. Also, what are they using for drivers? The default MS ones? Blech. |

I am using a cheap logitech optical mouse. I have a new Microsoft one that I haven't hooked up yet. Though, it is a cheapy as well. Like I said before, I don't have any problems with any other games. And yes, I didn't download drivers for this mouse.. just using the MS one. I will take a look to see if there is a driver for it. But, that is about as far as I would go. I don't see a need to buy a better mouse for a 3 day trial. Also, I have played the game alot more now. I am getting used to it. It really only happens if you move the mouse very slowly. Basically, it only affects aiming at a good distance. But, compared to a FPS the mouse movement is sub par imo. BTW the game is running great on the HP Blackbird I am using. |

Innexpensive optical mice often have a hard time tracking on certain surfaces. And the problem increases over shorter motions. There is less intervening geometry for it to track, so the cursor 'jumps'. You might try finding a piece of paper with a recuring, small, pattern on it and use it for a makeshift mousepad just to see if it helps. I have a MS Mouse that used to go nuts when I tried to use it direclty on my 'woodgrain' desktop. Behaved just as you are describing. Fine over a long sweep, but would have a very hard time over small motions. Bottom line, though, a better mouse will provide better operation. I can recommend the G5 (NOT the G9; pos). Good Luck |

Thanks, but like I said before. This is the only game that I have had any problems with. So, that tells me right there it isn't the mouse. |

This is the only game I'm having jerky mouse issues with as well. Rest are smooth as silk.

You are set on it being the game's fault, that you shouldn't have to upgrade the el'cheapo mouse and that is that. Great. Sorry you didn't enjoy the game and didn't want to put the effort into making it work for you. |

Originally posted by ecklund11 Sounds more like the mouse with a low DPI. For a test, I lowered my Habu to 300 DPI and had the same trouble as you described. Bumped it up to 600 DPI and it was better. Bumped it again to 1000 DPI and absolutely no troubles but I had to increase the sensativity just a tad. Bumped it up to 2000 DPI and it's smooth as silk. I am trying to find a fix...but I am not 100% convinced that the only thing I can do is buy a new mouse. If it comes down to that, that no I probably won't be running out to buy a mouse. What do you mean about a video card running games great but not TR? The game does run great on my system. Could you explain? Try to sound like an adult in your reply please. Not sure why you are so negative towards me all of a sudden. There are a lot of assumptions in your last post. Let's keep it somewhat "professional" people. At any rate, I have some things to try tomorrow. Will try to keep you posted.
Edit: Interesting test fuhyo. How come there is such a big difference in TR then in other games? |

I had some severe mouse lag right after release. I wrote NCsoft and they responded back with
I did this, even though I had no newer mouse drivers.. they were the same. For some reason it fixed my mouse lag by just removing and re-installing the mouse drivers. |
