What is it with so many MMO's using the "point and click" movement system as the primary way of getting around. It just sucks the MMO feeling out of a game in my opinion. You don't feel like you have as much control over your character and you don't get sucked in. I think WoW has it perfect. The movement commands + camera control is so nice. They also have point + click for those who want to use it. I stopped playing WoW and since then every other MMO I have found uses point and click. Your thoughts? |

Google "MMORPGMaker" if you want to make your own MMORPG. |

I refuse to play MMORPGs that do not use WASD. That, to me, is a minimum requirement. The point n click method is easier to program, which is why it is used.

Meh, I'm skilled enough to master either system, so no big deal. Now, if the game doesn't having jumping
Who the hell are you, and why should I care? |

WASD wouldnt be right for every MMO out there some of them work better with point and click. "Kill one man, and you are a murderer. Kill millions of men, and you are a conqueror. Kill them all, and you are a god." |

WoW got so much down right, and in my opinion has the best combat of any MMO out right now. I just wish there were more interesting PVP features that were less carebear. |

WoW did both, WHAT A CONCEPT! lol really I don't want to give Blizzard too much credit for taking a COMMON SENSE approach to game design. So I will just say other games took the laaaaaazy approach. |

Its nice to have more control over your character and it makes PvP more interesting. |

I'm sure clicking is much easier for the server than constantly pressing WASD. Besides, it's easier to smoke while you if you have 1 hand free. (just say NO to cigarettes, kids!) |

Yes, its always nice to have a hand free for..other...stuff.. *COUGH* Anyways, for the standard-clichequest-fantasy-mmo wasd may be the choice, but not all mmos are fantasy, and some arent even on earth. Wasd doesnt work anywhere. ;) |

For me FFXI made the best use of the keyboard: Numpad to move and just straight typing to talk without pressing enter first! WASD is 2nd best IMO with CoH having the best freedom of movement of any game Point n Click is undesirable for me, but as it's easy to implement I have no problem with it being included as an alternative for those that need it for whatever reasons. On jumping - although you dont see that many people jumping around in RL, for some reason not being able to in a game makes it seem like there is something missing (probably as it's such a staple of games of most genres). |

"Point and click" is a kind of simple way of movement as it's fairly easy to make people unable to find glitches or bugs to get to places you aren't supposed to get to. With WASD and jumping it's harder. I haven't found very many games that use "point and click", maybe because I avoid P2P games which seem to be the most common to feature "point and click". |
