This: ...has surpassed 500,000 closed beta registrants in North America and Europe. ..."It's fantastic that over half a million players want to help us with the development of WAR," Maybe choosed bad word "tidbits", maybe you have a better one. But I shiver by these things. I don't know what the intentions are. But setting up to high expectations, let the game sell itself. With the counter ticking on the betainvite for LOTRO and betaplayers and what they announced it is almost as they want people to play the games because alot of others do instead of people playing the game because it is a good game. I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention. |

Originally posted by Orphes If your talking in terms of information about the game, it's the complete reverse: the devs have been completely open about whats actally happening within the WAR dev department plus with the podcasts from the main site us non-beta people know just about the same as the players actally playing it, you don't even have to dig for the information half of it's on this site or linked here and the other half is on the site site.. What IS known about this next phase of the beta is from the resent newsletter and that this part of the beta willhave focused testing, meaning events will be set up so your characters may be temparery buffed up and/or leveled to test certian areas of the game and quite possibily reset often and plus they'd probly be expecting a LOT of feedback from the testers (as they should) Bring on the WARRRRGGHH! |

Originally posted by Orphes Ahh, it is just odd to see such a high number of people wanting to test a game, compare it to other games. I do not think this statement adds to the hype, it isn't like this announcement is going to spur another 500k people to sign up. I don't think it is going to get much bigger than this. |

Well those 500 doesnt say that much. I signed a while ago for WAR beta too, and if I get invited I will surely take a look, but I am already 99% sure that I wont buy the game. TCoS looks more fun in my eyes.
But my point is, from those 500k, not everyone wants to actually buy the game. |

Originally posted by Thatim It is just a bragging right, nothing less, nothing more. Most games do not garner the attention to get 500k applicants. You think that games with 100k applicants all want to play the game? Nope. Do you think everyone who tests TCoS actually wants to play it? Nope. I signed up forever ago for TCoS and have 0 intention of playing it when it launches. |

Bah, the only number that matters is if I get a beta invite.... Good to see lots of folks are interested in the game though..... "Just because you aren't paying doesn't mean it's not PTW." - Amaranthar |

According to the very limited list of countries available when one applies to the beta, what they really mean is "500k USA beta testers". Europe, on that list? Lies.

500k huh? I have to giggle to myself and wonder how many of them are gold-farmers trying to get used to playing the game before it goes live. xD |

Took long enough to get a response lol.
In this instance, all 190k gonna find what they are expecting. Just like all 490k WAR applicants will find what they are expecting as well. /snap
edit: just so folks don't come in here screamin for me to 'gtfo troll' I'm just messin. I'm actually glad to see lately WAR has been doing stuff to distance itself from the whole 'WoW clone' thing. |
